Barska Encounter 20x, 40x100 Waterproof High Power Jumbo Binoculars with Premium Hard Case for Astronomy Stargazing and Long Range Viewing

Just got these today overnighted by Barska on a 5 month payment plan which is great timing! My first thought upon writing a review here is that Barska is not messing around! Perfect condition. Cleanest optics I've ever seen in ten years of buying. Are these a new version? Must make them in a cleanroom. I've heard stories about nortorious collimation problems, eyepieces not interchangeable, eyepieces not coming to focus... all in the past now. Super build, ultra fine focus, high quality case that the others out there don't come with. What a great night with these living near a white zone. Can't wait to get these to Yosemite next week! Got my rigel finder attached. A must have.First off, these provide a correct view of the sky. A must! The reason why they say you cannot see a view in anything else like these is because even though the field of view is very wide and pulled back from the target, the light grasp of two large lenses lets you see fainter stars. So everything in view has so much resolution! and contrast! The correct image view cannot be had in a telescope with diagonal without spending lots of $ on a correct image prism. These big binos already have correct image. Another savings. Truly incredible views.On axis views on bright obects do show a bit of color (CA) as to be expected as a semi design and polish. Extremely subtle! - almost gone in excellent seeing I'm sure to find. I did not purchase these to look at bright planets or the moon. Or the brightest stars. These are for expansive views of deep sky objects in a way that only these can do. Add third party 3D eyepieces and the true value in these becomes instantly clear. Plus I've come up with a way to mount these nicely balanced on a Tele Vue Tele Pod mount / Manfrotto tripod = near light gathering of a 140mm semi-apo, push-to Go To Sky Tour, 3D astronomy, correct image - seeing obect as it really is, easy travel to real sky or better yet Southern skies, and can carry it all with one hand. My most joyous grab and go set up to date. Well done.Edit: couldn't get to Yosemite. Was in a blue green zone down south. M22 (globular cluster) in 3D was worth the purchase. Bought these as a used/Amazon return. It was listed as good condition. I took a chance because the price was well below the new list price. I haven’t been disappointed with the purchase. There are some signs of prior use but nothing that affects the performance. It delivers great wild angle views of night sky objects and because you’re using both eyes to observe can see objects that may otherwise escape your notice.

I just got these. After the first day, I'm in love. I am upgrading, so I already had a heavy, heavy duty tripod. (You need a very heavy duty tripod for these!!) Made this one a breeze. It snapped on with no problem. Everything was so easy. I was up and binocularing in just a minute or two. No problems. I said here I go. My first look at the horizon and I went wow! Look at that, a Navy cruiser!!! I had not noticed it with my naked eye. I could almost see the men on the deck. Focusing, using, just couldn't be easier, better. I love em.

This is exactly what I wanted when I ordered these. I live in Maui and got these for watching whales off of my lanai Great resolution the 40 X Power is great for Viewing whales 10 miles or more away when I look over the ocean with my naked eye I see nothing, I looked through the Barska jumbo it is whale soup everybody has been extremely impressed with the quality of the viewing experience my wife even enjoys using these throughout the day. You definitely want to have these on a tripod focusing each side separately is a little challenging however the result is excellent The images are bright and crisp with great detail.

Based on Amazon reviews, I bought these for our beach home in Mexico. I really wanted these to work, but sadly, didn't have the same positive experience as the other five star reviews. The left eyepiece was stuck, preventing focusing of that side. Removing the eyepiece revealed a piece of rubber O ring had broken and fallen into binoculars cavity. Removed the offending O ring rubber, but still unable to smoothly swap eyepieces and focusing was rough, never able to focus left side. Right side focused OK, but not very bright. Returning them for refund.

This thing is heavy! I’m carefully using it on my camera tripod but It should be mounted on a heavy duty tripod. Excellent quality. Will be enjoying this for many years to come. The photo of the image in the eyepiece doesn’t do it justice. It’s very clear but difficult to take a photo with my 3lense iPhone camera.

Really Good binoculars. Can see far and adds a lot of light

Binocular are great vary clear when looking throw them I'm vary impress with them . I do not recommend getting the barska tripod that they recommend to get
