Not bad but.....
this was a decent conclusion to the trilogy. I struggled with deciding whether to give it three or four stars and decided on four because the problems I have with the story are do to my own beliefs. The story has a generic fantasy formula feel to it which is not necessarily a bad thing but it was obviously a vehicle to promote Christianity. I kept thinking of King Quentin as Emperor Constantine converting to Christianity and the overall feeling I got about the books made me think of the old tv show Davey and Goliath. Another way of describing it might be that it is the complete opposite of Martin's Game Of Thrones. I can't think of any other books that I might have read by Mr. Lawhead so I am not sure if that, promoting Christianity, is normal for him or not

A Powerful Story
I have always wondered how people that have no faith can deal with terrible loss and grief. This story shows one example. This was a great ending for an enjoyable series. Love, of friends and family trumps all. And of course, faith is the most powerful of all.

Great read!
Stephen Lawhead always writes a good book. He makes historical stuff come alive, making one more interested in history overall. Everyone from 10 to 100 should read this series!

well met!
This third installment starts off a little difficult to dive into, but that only lasts a few pages so persevere and enjoy the remaining 90% of the tale. I really enjoyed seeing secondary characters taking primary roles and more actively engaging the story. Once again, well met!

Very enjoyable
Excellent writing, as always with Lawhead. I thought the plot snagged a little bit in the middle, but came back strongly. I was sad when the last book ended and will be seeking other Lawhead series (have already read and highly recommend the Robin Hood series).

A Fierce, Faith‑Driven Finale
King Quentin faces the darkest trial of his reign when a trusted friend is murdered, his young son Prince Gerin is kidnapped, and his enchanted sword is lost — blows that shake both his kingdom and his faith. As the long‑defeated sorcerer Nimrood rises again with a terrifying new plan, Quentin is forced into a desperate quest that tests not only his courage but the very core of his belief. With Mensandor on the brink of chaos, he must confront both external evil and the inner despair threatening to consume him, discovering that sometimes the greatest battle is the one fought within.
