Kingdoms and Covenants
I just took the class on Kingdom and Covenants and this book was used for the majority of the background other than Scripture. Dr. P did an excellent job laying this out to tie in Abrahamic, Mosaic, Palestinian (Mosaic restated to the new generation entering the Promised Land), Davidic, and New Covenant. Dr. P taught until he was 99 years old and I'm so thankful DTS continue to use his lectures to give this book the credit it deserves.

Many excellent insights
Although there were a few interpretative turns I would disagree with, on the whole, I thought this was excellent. A great book to supplement a study if the Kingdom.

Thy Kingdom Come is a Penetrating Book of Wisdom
Thy Kingdom Come is a very revealing book in that it gives you a more complete and deeper meaning to understand. It has many gems in it and so I recommend it. I am a book worm and read 2 - 3 hours a day in commentaries and bible and scriptures not included in the Bible, like Enoch, that was quoted in the Bible. Legends of the Jews. This book I have learned so much that the Lord has explained to me from a 3rd party of the meanings of Kingdom of God vs. Kingdom of Heaven.

Great Introduction, But A Bit Dated
If you are young in this topic, and like scholarly writing, YES this book will bless you! However:If you are a seasoned student of Eschatology and Scripture, this book is tragically dated. 1) considerable new insight has emerged in the last decades, and 2) writing this book, Pentecost was an aged academic stuck in the comfort and security of his DTS ivory tower, rewriting his 1958 treatise on the subject. Its actually a bit sad to see how little Spiritual insight was gleaned in the intervening 3 decades; worldly comfort and renown tends to erode humbleness and quell the Spirit. Its a great and necessary foundation, but its by no means comprehensive or up to date.

Thy Kingdom Come
I love reading Pentecost, I have never read anything by him that was off point. I am still reading this book, so far it is a very good book on the kingdom of God.

One of the most amazing books I have ever read!
"Thy Kingdom Come" is one of the most amazing books I have ever read! It is the most complete description of the Kingdom of God. The author does an incredibly job of laying out both the historical and theological basis of the Kingdom. The book is beautifully written and a pleasure to read.

Great Book in a confused world
Today it seems many people do not want to accept the Bible as true and its promises as real about prophetic future events. This book shows the importance of Gods plan in dealing with Israel in a time of blessing that is still to come. It is done in a way without trying to plug in things that are not naturally found in this time period.

Pentecost, as ever, outstanding.
For a study on God's kingdom programs and his covenant promises, this is the best book by far I have read. Simple to read and understand. I'm always amazed at how Pentecost can so skillfully bring such concepts to a layperson' sunder standing. Pentecost is always one of my favorites!Highly recommend for all!
