Perfect for defined, frizz-free curls
I purchased this Revlon hair dryer in 2020 and used it for several years, primarily for my curly hair, though I occasionally used it for straight hair as well. What I loved the most is how quickly it dries hair while leaving my curls defined and completely frizz-free.The included diffuser is a game changer for curly hair, as it helps maintain the natural shape without causing damage or tangles. Additionally, the heat and speed settings (hot, warm, and cool) make it very versatile and easy to use, adapting to different hair types and styles. When I used it for straight hair, it also worked wonderfully, achieving an even dry and a smooth finish. Its design is lightweight, easy to handle, and not too noisy, making it ideal for everyday use. This is a reliable and durable hair dryer that served me well for years. If you’re looking for a quality tool to care for your hair and achieve professional-level drying at home, this is an excellent choice. Highly recommended!

Best for Fine Hair
This hairdryer is awesome for people who just want a regular dryer with traditional technology with no ions if you don't want them...it has an "off switch" for ions...woohoo!!!!). I am so relieved to have found this product. For people who have fine hair and want volume (not flat shine), this hair dryer is perfect. I've searched a long time and have tried many dryers (some VERY expensive ones and sent them all back). This one has two speeds AND three heat settings (separate). The low speed and medium to high heat is ideal for fine hair. It has a cool shot if you require it. The dryer is not very noisy and frankly is exactly like what I've been using for years and will continuing using. The speed is controlled and won't blow your hair all over the place. The lowest speed gives you time to dry your hair using just the right amount of air and heat. To be honest, I actually bought 2 more to put into storage in case this one is also discontinued. It is very rare to find a hairdryer with original tech. I also thought the price point was great and the delivery was quick. I can't comment on the ions; they will not (never) be used by me ...*smile* Thanks Revlon and Amazon!

Best Hair Dryer I've found
I rated this hair dryer as 3-star (or Ambivalent) because of the phrase used for the query. The hair dryer I bought before this was unusable for me because it blew too strongly. On "low" it tangled my hair like driving around in a convertible without a hair-tie or scarf. It tangled my hair even when holding the ends of my hair! (I don't understand how that is even possible!) The tangles were so frustrating that I retreated to the same exact model as my one before that - RV484.My 2023 RV484 blows significantly weaker than the Conair (also 1875 watts) - which I desperately needed. So, although the Revlon RV484 has "less drying power" than some hair dryers out there, that is a good thing because it doesn't ruin my hair. If the statistic was worded differently I could rate it as I believe it deserves as "best at drying hair".Works as nicely as my original (2012) RV484 - which has a metal shell with purple trim (that is: purple where this one is black & actual metal where this one is white). I am still using the 2012 unit at the vacation home. It is a little weaker now that it is so old - took 50% (a full two minutes) longer to dry my hair last week than with the 2023 unit.I've specified in this review that I refer to the 2023 RV484 because I notice that the one currently sold on this page has a white & black plastic shell. My 2023 unit has silver-colored plastic where this one has white.I almost always use with the ion switch turned on. I don't know if that switch does anything because I never notice a difference in brittleness nor shine when I go a few times with the switch accidentally off. However, the Conair I mentioned, the one I dubbed Stormy, claimed to be ionic 100% of the time (no switch) and left my hair awfully brittle. Just one drying with RV484 and all that brittleness = gone. Therefore, I believe that while the switch might not turn anything on or off, the RV484 definitely creates ions & expels them into the stream of warmed air while Stormy did not.Anyway, RV484 is a great hair dryer. I would not rate it high for travel nor for being lightweight. I don't pack it in my luggage. It is definitely not as heavy as a salon hair dryer, but it is the heaviest I've owned since the 1970s. It does a much better job than the antiques & foldables.Probably I should give context that I have a LOT of stick-straight (except on very humid days), very skinny (aka: fine) hair. (My whole head ponytail is only 1.25-inches diameter.) I dry on medium heat hoping to reduce cuticle damage. My normal - no round brush - at-home blow out takes about 4 minutes while my hair is about 16-17 inches long. If you have thick hair - like my friend who cooked my foldable traveler with the lovely retractable cord - you'll want to know that my easy-dry hair is why Stormy was too much for me.If you've bought a hair dryer in the past that was too much for you: 1875 watts is how much electricity the motor draws from your outlet. 1875 watts is not related to the speed nor temperature the dryer is going to throw at your hair. I should have known based on the words, but I didn't figure it all out until Stormy.(Stormy moved to my nephew's art studio & is used for drying paint and other creations. Everyone is relieved.)

Love this dryer. It is light weight has several temperature setting and speeds. It has an ion button to reduce frizz. A good value for the price. I m sure you will love it too.

So glad I found this!
Great hairdryer for fine, limp, delicate hair! I like that it gives you the option to turn the ion feature OFF. Most dryers today are ion only and ionic dryers tend to flatten my hair too much. I like old school hair dryers that don’t run too hot. This one is perfect. Leaves me with swingy, voluminous hair - shiny & frizz free!
