Dritz 894 Pattern File Box & Lid

This file box is perfect. It's sturdy and the pattern on the outside, allow for some artistic/creativity to add some colour.I bought this box in order to store all the dozens of sewing patterns my recently departed mother had used over the past 60 years, as was her profession as a seamstress whose clientele included a few A-list celebs and the monarchy. She was brilliant and she would have loved this. Need to buy more ... such a huge collection!! :-)

The box is sturdy and was easy to assemble. My patterns fit in it perfectly. I was able to put 53, mostly new patterns in to my box with a small finger space to look thru them. There are dividers to write the category of patterns. I bought my first boxes in town several years ago, and was only able to get thru Amazon, today.

I was in desperate need of a pattern storage solution, and ended up with these. I searched on the internet for a long time trying to find solutions, and everything I found either didn't work for my needs, or involved using these or comic book boxes. So I decided to go with these. They do fit the patterns nicely, and I was able to put as many patterns in there as it said it could hold, though I prefer to keep a few less so that I can flip through them. I have also found that I can keep my larger envelope Vogue patterns stored along the side in the gap in between other patterns. It's not ideal, so I keep them in my box I use the least so they don't get in the way. However, you can't really blame Dritz for that, it's Vogues fault for trying to be different and not thinking about their customers!I plan on putting some clear contact paper on the front of the box where you can write in the patterns. That way I can use an overhead marker to write them on then take it off later if I every want to rearrange my ever growing pattern stash. I would hate to write on the boxes now, when my dress and skirt patterns can all fit in my box, and then have my dress pattern collection grow to needing its own box and be stuck with the names unchangeable.I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because the price is high for what you get, and I would like to have handle holes in the box. Getting them down off my shelf, especially when you have a few next to each other, can be tricky without anything to grab and pull.

Really lucky to find these boxes here since they are no longer sold in fabric stores. They are a bit pricey considering they are just CARDBOARD but are deigned specifically for dress pattern organization. They are well made and if you want to show them off lined up on one shelf, one can also recover the boxes using contact paper. I love them; you can use them for anything though.

I am doing a Patternmaking course and because I have loads of patterns I needed something handy to store them in. But this is a tiny box with dividers that are small than the box and nothing to hold them in place :-(

I like the boxes I think is perfect to store patterns I just think the price is fair for one box , I'm returning the "one " box that cost $13 and getting them at Create for less for $4.09 each or Nancy's notions a package of 3 for $11.99 .

Great Boxes, no complaint, outside of the inflated price! A set of THREE of these very same boxes is available online at a reputable sewing notions store for $11.99, with shipping included still comes to only about $6.00 each. LOVE to have my patterns organized in these perfect boxes. Nice & strong too. Should last a long time.

Just what I wanted to store and organise my patterns. Easy to put together. If my pattern collection grows I will certainly order more.
