Outstanding value
The only thing better ..at least a priority is fire sights..fiber optic rear V and blade front. My 10/22 oddly came with fibre optic...good for golf balls out to 100 yards! The Yuma guy next to me, shooting 1000 yards with his Ruger 25-06 had to come over to me to look at the 10/22 because I was bouncing golf balls easily, out to 100 yards..and I do not consider myself much of a shooter. Anyway, tho' my fire sights were working for me, I wanted to try a red dot. If nothing else this sight is fun, fun, fun. It's on a see through mount that almost obliterates my fire sights (:(:...but I am leaving it on.. Under $30? Incredible! The power on-off and variable light power adjustments, and windage and elevation, click like a $100+ sight. Low price, high quality...I think. I will put one or both (fire sights and the Barska on my Marlin 336 one of these days. That would be a huge improvement for a 336. I do not understand why any mfgr would mount a non fibre optic open sight today. The little bit of additional cost would be met with a huge boost in customer satisfaction.... and a valuable better shooting sport for all. Oh.. and get a Barska red dot too........

Great product for a great price
This sight is an amazing sight for what you pay. I put this sight on my DPMS AR-15. Once I got it sighted in (it was not set to the mechanical zero), where ever the dot was is where I hit. I put about 2000 rounds through my firearm before I had to re-sight, and it was only a minor adjustment. It comes with a spare battery, covers for both ends of the sight, and a microfiber cleaning rag. I was a little hesitant about buying this product at first because I heard that the sight would randomly turn off when you fired higher caliber rifles. All you have to do to fix that is tight the battery cap on top of the sight with a flat blade screw driver. Overall this is a great product for the occasional shooter.

Surprisingly good value
I was recently in the market for a red dot sight for a used Daisy 717 that I found a very good deal on, and I didn't want to spend more on the sight than I spent on the gun. This Barska looked like a good deal, and I noticed that most of the reviews were very good. The only negative comments appeared to focus on three areas: The rings were for a Weaver rail, not a 3/8, the light was erratic, and the dot was not well focused. The first one wasn't an issue as I was looking for a sight to fit a Weaver rail. Other reviewers said that the dot wasn't erratic so long as you were careful about screwing down the battery cover. As for the third... well, cheap sights don't have the same quality control you get in more expensive ones, and some samples were probably better (and worse) than others. I decided to chance it.When my sight arrived I was immediately impressed by the appearance of the sight, and the solidity. This looks and feels just like the much more expensive Ultradot sight I have on my bullseye .22 pistol. The dot is not as good as that on the Ultradot, though; there's a slight double image at 6 o'clock. But it's small enough that I can put up with it, especially as this sight costs only a quarter of what the Ultradot cost. Also, if you keep the dot at the minimum brightness needed, the ghost image is barely apparent. If the dot were better, I'd give it five stars for value. Even so, if you're looking for a decent, inexpensive red dot sight for your .22 or air gun for hunting, plinking, casual target shooting or practice, this is a pretty good deal.

Broke for No Reason
Bought this for my Hi-Point 995TS carbine, which I planned to use for a steel challenge competition. My needs are a reliable sight for use up to approximately 20 yards with decent accuracy. Groupings within 3 or so inches would be acceptable. Mounted easily, zeroed at 20 yards indoor range with little effort. Groups were within 2 inches, consistently. Returned to the range the next week after tightening the mount screws, and was off about 1.5" to the right. Quickly zeroed. Accuracy stayed excellent for me, I was ready to go on the Steel match. That morning, noticed red dot lost a little brightness so I replaced the battery. First station of event, at maximum brightness setting on a sunny morning, could barely see the dot, and it started to vanish when shooting. Tried replacing battery again, and during the day the brightness setting knob loosened up, wobbled, and failed to work. I could push down on the knob until the faint dot appeared, after one shot it vanished. Ruined my competition. This is the first "economy" red dot I have purchased that actually broke. Not an accuracy, mounting, or adjustment issue, but it broke for no reason. Started out excellent for my use. My carbine was kept protected in it's case and did not suffer any bumps or contact with anything that would cause damage. I am returning for a refund, and I would advise others, based on my experience, to look elsewhere for a similar red dot sight.

dot moves around, making it not very accurate
I've purchased reflex sights that were in this price range that were not great but the red dot did not move around when you looked around. Paralax free I believe is the phrase. This sight seems to be built pretty good but is not that way. With the weapon in a bench rest, you can look around and note that the dot moves a bit with your eye. Not wildly, but AimShot, EoTech, etc., dots stay put.Next time, I'll get the open reflex sight but for the money and considering I'm putting it on a tactical shotgun for close quarters, it does the trick.

Great Scope!
I had a pest problem here at dusk/night, I cannot even tell how many arrows I sent flying around my yard with no results. It was impossible to see through the peep sights in low light. Bought this scope, along with a nice universal mount off off Ebay, it took a little bit to get it all set up and sighted in, but first shot at the critter, in the dark (low light from garage) and it was a clean kill. Only problem is the pest problem is gone, so I have nothing to shoot at. The red dot is great on highest setting in day, lowest at night. Amazing you can buy something like this for such a low price.

Good quality
Best red dot I have ever owned. Easy to install, accurate out of the box, comes with a spare battery and looks good too. Thanks.

Very easy to use
Was looking for something in the affordable range red dot. Found this one on sale since it had a tiny little scratch on it, can barely see it honestly and wouldn't care even if it was more noticeable. Very easy to use,Pros: Easy to adjust (need a little flat screw driver or something similar) Brightness is adjustable from 0 to 11 so finding something that will work best for you is easy. 42mm lens gives you lots of room to work with, don't have to squint into a tiny optic. Easy to install. It's not a QC but the two knob screws (or whatever you call them) make it easy anyhow.Cons: None that I can think off. It's not the smallest red dot out there but whether that's a pro or con depends on you, but then again it's really not the biggest.I took it out a few times since receiving it and it's been working just fine, no loss of zero so far, even the wife had no complaints (which is good).

... to put on a 715T Mossberg and it works great. Only downside was that one of the batteries ...
Bought this to put on a 715T Mossberg and it works great. Only downside was that one of the batteries that came with it was already dead. Can't beat the price and it has no problem staying sighted at 100 yards. Sometimes has to be on the highest brightness depending on when you are shooting.

Good quality built, but not great mounting set up.
I love the big 50mm size, clear glass and very visible dot under sunlight. The only problem is the mounting bracket that is on the red dot, it won't fit any of my railing system, the distance between the 2 mounting screws are just off by maybe half mm that it will not fit on any rail. Returned it to Amazon, good return policy on Amazon part. 3 stars is for the quality, i would keep it if it fits well.
