The grout pen is doing the job of restoring grout from grey to black again. Easy to use and looks good.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Great product! I used it to give my fireplace tiles a face-lift from dirty white to black. It got the job done and it looks amazing. Ps. I tried a black permanent marker to see if it would have the same effect and it doesn't!

I liked that it was TRUE BLACK. It went on black & dried black in minutes. Doesnt smell and the single large pen was enough to complete my entire counter top grouting. Couple of "could be better" things. The large tip is very big. (1) If they just included the smaller tip it would be perfect. Suggest scraping away any excess grout before it dries, otherwise you may have to scrub for clean lines. (2) They should include cleaning steps for excess or grout spillage. Its washable, but with some effort. After first attempts , I ended up using the large tip.on its side. It dried true black quickly (photos), but I definitely recommend waiting the 6 hours before getting tiles wet. Bottom line: I am happy with the results. I would buy the smaller tip pen for any tiles smaller than 10x10. My tiles are 12x12 and the tip was even too big for the grout lines. Finished grout looks clean & definitely black. Would recommend.

Was super easy to use! 1 pen completed about half of my bathroom tile. I recommend cleaning your tile prior to using. Dries fast and looks great.

Our black grout has never been black, even when it was first installed. I was hopeful this would help cover some of the efflorescence and discoloration. The color of the marker was nice, it instantly refreshed the area I tested. However, the product does not go very far at all, especially on large floor tiles. I was not even able to finish a small closet. The tip also wears down really quickly, even without pressing too hard. The marker is better suited for smaller areas or backsplash tiles, something like that. It's definitely not a cost effective option for 2,500 sq ft of floor tile.

I am so happy I got this! It completely transformed my bathroom! So easy to use and the thinness makes it easy to get in the grout perfectly, it dries very quick and easy to remove off of the actual tile. Just got it so I haven’t finished but what I’ve done so far only took about 20-30 minutes.

Love it! The color is vibrant and bold. Works great with my white and grey tiles. My old grout color was starting to look really gross to be honest, and no matter how much I would scrub and sanitize it the stains wouldn’t come out. So I decided to get this product to seal and color them darker so that it wouldn’t be a problem and it’s totally worth it so far. The value is great for the amount you get. I see a lot of people commenting that it doesn’t last very long, but if you’re a frugal, inventive and imaginative you can make it go A LONG way. What I’ve done to extend the life of this pen is to consistently flip the tip over and over once it starts to run low on paint and press down on the tip every time it starts running out. This has extended the life of it so much that I was able to do my entire bathroom tile as well as all of the tile in my entry way. Be creative and you can make the paint go a long way!

I used this stain to cover a dark blue grout after we updated our bathroom and the color scheme for the grout needed to be black. I am happy overall with the quality of the stain and ease of use of this product and would recommend it. The downside is the pen only contains 7 ml of stain, which doesn't go very far. Also, the pen tip (nib) tends to deteriorate when being used on coarse grout. I found that the tip was toast about the time the pen ran out of stain. I don't know if that is intelligent design or just luck. I tried not to press too hard when using the tip to extend the life of the pen tip. It is also a bit messy to use, if you over-stain onto the tile you need to get it up right away. The instructions say to use a moist cloth, but that just smeared the stain all over the place. I used my finger and a dry towel, which seemed to work the best. I think this stain would warrant a 5-star ranking if the pen barrel was larger and/or contained more stain. Come on, at give the customer a pen containing at least 10 ml, don't be cheap! If it had even 10 ml, it would increase pen coverage 30 percent and not cost the manufacturer hardly anything. I used three pens to cover approximately 70 square feet (about $30 with tax). I saw bulk grout stains containing 8 oz for sale on Amazon for as low as $30 (though some were not rated very well). BTW, for those of you who don't do metric, 7 ml is just under a quarter of an ounce (.24 oz).

Excellent coverage, makes grout and tiles look new. Such fun to use too. Not sure on longevity but can always touch up again. Would recommend!

Habe den Stift bestellt, da wir in der Dusche (auf dem Boden) Kiesel haben. Die sind zwar toll, aber als kalkhaltiger Stein darf man keinen vernünftigen Reiniger verwenden und so leiden auch die Fugen, heisst irgendwann kalken sie ein wenig zu. Ursprünglich anthrazit hatten sich die Fugen zu einer nicht näher bestimmbaren Farbe entwickelt, heisst, wurden unansehnlich. Da es den Stift LEIDER nicht in anthrazit gibt - komischerweise bei keinem der Hersteller! - fiel die Wahl auf schwarz. ACHTUNG: den Stift gibt es in zwei Größen, heisst Füllmenge UND Breite der Spitze, mit sehr geringem Preisunterschied. Ich hatte zuerst den grossen=dicken Stift. Von dem was rauskommt, gleich. Nur ist die Spitze bei dem dicken Stift auch wesentlich dicker, was vor allem bei feineren Arbeiten, wie bei mir "Malen nach Zahlen zwischen den Kieseln", nicht hilft! Da empfehle ich lieber zwei "dünne" Stifte. Der dicke Stift hat eine Spitzenbreite von ca. 0,5-0,7 cm, der dünne malt zunächst mit ca. 0,2-0,3cm, bis er anfängt auszufransen, dann ein bisschen dicker. Die Stifte sind praktisch, lassen gut mit sich arbeiten. ACHTUNG: Bevor Sie den Stift für den Boden verwenden - vor allem unter der Dusche - vorher alles nochmal gründlich schrubben! Das habe ich vor dem ersten Versuch nicht gemacht und die Farbe ging relativ schnell ab. Nun mit Putzen alles schön neu "verfugt" und es scheint zu halten. Wie lange es an so undankbarer Stelle wie unter der Dusche halten wird, kann ich noch nicht sagen. Bisher macht es einen sehr guten Eindruck. Und auch wenn ein bisschen was hin und wieder nachgerarbeitet werden muss, das ist allemal einfacher, als neu zu fliesen. Empfehlenswert!

Aunque me parece muy caro para la cantidad que trae es muy cómodo de aplicar Ya he encargado más .Lo que no se es la durabilidad con el fregado ya que yo lo he usado para las losas del suelo

Good pen, wide to fit the wide grout lines. Good coverage easy to use. Tip. Have a damp cloth handy to wipe any errors, but you can use a blade to remove also once dry. I would recommend this pen.
