Delicious
These are tasty and easy to cook with. I recommend mixing the soup and water portion first to blend it really well and then add in the rice cakes and stir well to coat. I find that they taste better that way.

Easy-to-cook, authentic tasting sauce, chewy rice cake
I am very glad that I tried this tteokbokki! It is very hard to find authentic tasting tteokbokki in the US; they are often too sweet or too spicy. But sauce used for Surasang tteokbokki had the perfect combination of sweet and spicy. Rice cakes were also very delicious (chewy). I guarantee that you will be much more satisfied with these tteokbokkis than you would be with the ones you get from H Marts. It's not just me - my other Korean friends were very impressed when I brought it to the potluck lunch!I tried cooking this tteokbokki in two different ways: 1. in microwave as recommended on the cover 2. in a pot with boiling water. I would say that both tasted good, but if you have time, definitely try cooking it in a pot with more vegetables, eggs, etc., for a richer flavor! Either way you will love these.

These are so tasty!
Fell in love with these after trying one we got at an Asian market. The texture of these almost like noodles, but dense. The sauce is incredibly tasty too. A lil spice, but just right. Definitely will order more.

Noodle smells horrible
I have purchased other variations and have not experienced this issue. But particularly for the tempura udon, the noodle have a very strong plastic smell. I rinse it over boiled water three times, and it still smelled strong. At first I thought it was from the tap water, so I opened a new package and cooked the noodle alone with bottled water. The plastic smell is still very potent. There is 2 months until the expiration date upon receiving the item. The smell was unbearable to be edible so I had to throw them out.

It's not bad, but it's not good either.
It did have easy to read English instructions. The quality is... okay. Flavor is a dashi broth with freeze dried kimchi that rehydrated. That in and of itself was good, honestly, the noodles are what made is kind of bad. they were the kind that are not fully dried. It recommends rinsing with hot water (which I did, twice, solely because the smell of the noodles was awful. It smelled like playdough.). Even after rinsing, they still maintained a bit of the gross smell. They weren't particularly great in noodle texture either. Thicker than a standard cup ramen, but honestly, not the best as far as texture or flavor. These aren't inedible or anything, and honestly, would probably get another star at least with different noodles, because the broth is good. Not too spicy, but flavorful. Overall, I'm not terribly impressed. I'd be better off just making janchi guksu at home.

Delicious and easy!
The 'Rice Cake Soup' is absolutely delicious! It is quick and simple to prepare. Because it only requires boiling water, there is no risk of a microwave mess. By the time I have collected silverware and walked from the kitchen to the table, the soup is ready to eat (ready in 1-2 minutes per package instructions). The soup is very mild and, as someone with a delicate stomach, I have never had any problems with it.

So good
I love this stuff. I originally ordered them when my local shop was out of rose tteokbokki and is almost better than them. Sooooo tasty and the price is almost the same as my local shop.
