SHURFLO 94-800-03 Model 4008 Repair Parts - Check Valve

This “off-center” version works fine on my camper water pump, Shurflo 4008-101-A65, manufactured 11/2017. We bought this camper used, so no idea if a prior owner changed out the housing on the water pump. Be sure to compare your current check valve to the pics for this product to be sure you need the off-center version. This part fixed my issue of city water flowing thru the pump and into the freshwater tank, eventually causing the fresh tank to overflow.

The product is perfect for a exact refit of models 4008-101-A65, however if you have an 4008-101-E65 it will not fit. That said I returned this kit, nothing wrong with the quality of parts or price, just wouldn’t work. I have a Pentair/Shurflo 8/month old pump, bought at Camping World and it’s still under warranty so I’ll deal with replacing. Other than that, no issues if you have an A-65 model and need to replace check valve.

READ THIS- the recent reviews and pictures complain that this “off center” version of the part will not replace the older “centered” version. This did not fit either my 2015 version nor my 2019 version. I called Shurflow support to ask why not. I was told they did a redesign on the pump upper housing (black plastic end piece) about 2020, which included a total redesign/reshape of the check valve, AND, they kept the same part numbers for the pump (4008), the upper housing (94-800-00), and the check valve (94-800-03). They did not assign a new part number to the new check valve. (shame, shame, shame). They did not continue production of the original check valve. They did not separate inventory nor spare parts. You cannot order a replacement for the old design. You can only order a completely new upper housing, which will come with the new design check valve. Its overly expensive at about $40. A new 4008 pump is about $74. Shame on you Shurflow. The actual rubber flapper of the old design and new design is about the same diameter at 19.33 mm (.7610). But the new flapper is considerably thicker, with a rounded over edge. I considered trying to use only the new flapper, but I didn’t want to mess around with it. Instead I cleaned the mineral scale debris from my old flapper and reinstalled it, and it seems to be working fine. So- if you order this in 2022 and beyond you’ll receive a non-centered version for manufacture date after approximately 2020. Do not buy this for the centered version from 2019 and prior.

Parts easy to install.

This replacement part was exact match for my RV water pump motor. Lots of comments on how it did not fit or work with the Shurflo pump motor, but it worked for me. I've inluded a picture of the pump label so you can compare with yours. This corrected the back flow problem into my fresh water tank. Cheap solution compared to a new pump. If I had read the instructions before starting, could have avoided disassembling the pump; you can change the check value from the outside of the head assembly. Good luck.

We purchased this part to replace the valve for our RV water pump. It arrived today but unfortunately the 3 pictured screws were missing from the package. I couldn’t find a local number to contact the manufacturer for assistance. (Hungary) Luckily my husband used the old screws. Hopefully it will work.
