Still providing relief after 10 months of use
This is the best way for me to relieve pain & release my sub occipital region. I tried a tennis ball on a yoga block but it doesn’t come close to this when it comes to ease of use and releasing muscle tendion. The bumps feel like strong fingers and it’s great for a scalp/head massage. It might hurt a little at first but that is due to the tightness of muscles. It’s like a foam roller for the back of your head. I love this thing & I would buy it again.

Worth the buy, but I do have suggestions
I'm petite. 5'4" ectomorph. Got this for my tight neck muscles. It helps. I definitely feel my neck stretch and crack with this. And it is much easier to use than what I typically do to help my neck pain (which involved using 2 tennis balls or a foam roller). It's not better than my tennis balls BUT it's good in different ways! (the tennis balls dig into my knots better, but this device stretches my anterior neck muscles better....and hands-free!). I do wish it was a little higher, or better yet, came with an attachment so you can either use it at its current height or make it taller. I also wish the knobs were taller or that the device was a hard plastic. I like to really get into those knots and pressure points. I can't even feel the knobs on the slanted part. The device is a soft to the touch, but very firm foam. With enough pressure, it will cave a little. Maybe for a heavy person that could defeat the purpose.

Take time to find the right placement for YOUR body & relax into it
Used at base of skull/top of spine as pictured in directions. Using 3-5 minutes a day and I have relief of neck and shoulder pain and improved range in turning (swiveling) and tipping my head. Important note: My neck pain and limited range of motion is due to tension and holding stress in muscles, not due to injury. Keys for best relief for me: lift your shoulders to allow it to slide a least a bit under them; try several spots from base of skull to upper neck until you get relief—a fraction of an inch can make a difference in getting greater relief; and most importantly, fully relax your head and neck into device. Full release of the weight of your head allows the pressure points to work on the muscles and tendons. Concentrate on relaxing head then jaw then neck then shoulders. Run through this relaxation pattern a few times and stay in place 3-5 minutes. This has been great relief for me. I hope it works as well for you.

Hard for me to use effectively on my neck
It's pretty hard, and I can't seem to put my neck in just the right place on it. It is helpful to me more for just relaxing my neck and head a bit, but not so much for pain. Will continue trying to adjust where I put my neck.

Got it last night and already love it. Wish it were non-slip.
I received this traction pillow last night and after laying on it a few min last night and this morning, it's already been so helpful in helping my neck & shoulder tension relax. My tension all seems to hang out in my upper neck/where my head gets my neck - and this is as good as someone holding my head in their hands and using their fingers to press up. I can't believe I didn't find it sooner, but I'm glad I've found it now and plan to use it every day to see if it can help me find ease with having headaches all the time. The only downside is that the bottom is slippery so it slides depending on where I place it. I think it could be more helpful if the bottom weren't so slippery/stayed in place. I tried putting it on top of a yoga mat to see if that'd help with the sliding, but it still slides - I may try getting non-slip stickers to put on the bottom.

Amazing for neck pain!
I have had neck pain for over 20 years, since I was 17. This pillow is amazing! I found it too hard at first so I layered a hand towel folded over on it. Then I only used 1 layer of the towel, then no towel. Once you get used to it it's so wonderful. If I stop doing it for a few days my neck pain comes back. I used it for 5-10 min per night before bed. I will lay still and also move my head around to get a massage from the nubs on the pillow. I combine this pillow routine w neck exercises, proper posture, walking and working out to relieve neck tension. I have already had 2 lumbar discs replaced pretty young (at age 35) and am trying to keep my neck healthy as best as I can.

Getting that Curve Back
Have only been using it for a few days but I can tell the difference. It feels uncomfortable at first, but I can tell the curve in my neck is headed in the right direction.
