Herbal Choice Mari SPF30 Face & Body Lotion Unscented 100ml/ 3.4oz Pump

When I first received it I couldn't get the pump to work so I had to remove lid and apply. Now the pump is working but I can't seem to get the pump to close so there is no way I could bring it anywhere as the pump won't close and it will leak everywhere! It takes a while to rub it and for you to stop looking ghost like cause of it taking a while to rub in. After it is rubbed in it is good and makes my face feel soft . Better lid/ pump would be appreciated as I feel I will waste a lot and it is pricey to be wasting any! Update : I have managed to fix the pump myself so all is well. 😄

I purchased Herbal Choice Mari because of its ratings on EWG for both efficacy and low toxicity for both UVA and UVB rays. I have been using the product for about two months. The positive?1. No break outs2. Seems effective (who really knows unless you are out working in the sun all day)3. Good moisturizing qualities4, Good Spreadability (learn to shake the bottle everyone...it travels well).5. No smell!Negatives:1. The pump was broken when I believe bought it. I had to salvage one from a shampoo bottle.2. The stuff goes on WHITE...really, really white. It does rub in, but it takes work.3. The lotion is a tad greasy...not the end of the world, 'greasy,' but greasier than I feel is ideal.Over-all, I like this product and go between 3 and 4 stars. Since Amazon would not let me rate it a 3 1/2, I will round up. This is not a perfect product, but it is very good, and I will definitely re-order again.

Do not forget to shake before applying! I love the non-toxic nature of this, and its good ratings by the "Skin deep" Environmental Working Group (EWG)'s database. We've had this about a year, and we do tend to be reluctant to put it on because putting sunblock on your face feels icky. Then, my spouse used it and got a bad sun burn, when the rest of us who used other sun block, didn't. We think it was because they forgot to shake it well before applying it, which the instructions clearly warn about. Next summer, I'll try to update with a test, when I've made sure to shake well.The expiration date puts us with another 4 years before it expires.

I chose this product after researching "safe" daily sunscreens on ewg.com. I am giving this 4 stars because it fulfills most of what I was looking for from a safety perspective (especially NO reproductive or reproductive toxicity, since I am pregnant), but have not given 5 stars because I don't love the texture/consistency. It's a bit greasy/oily and stays shiny on the face for a while after putting it on, but it isn't any worse than any of the other "safe" sunscreens I've tried. When I almost finished my first bottle, I thought I'd try something different to try to find a sunscreen with better consistency, but I ended up buying a second bottle of this product because I couldn't find a better "safe" sunscreen for a better price!

With this review, I'm assuming that it works and the ingredients are as advertised. However, I'm not buying it again. It's down to two issues. First, I'm assuming it's a physical sunscreen because I pretty much painted my face white every use. It's by no mean invisible. Second, the cream doesn't really travel at all. I can't really rub it in because it would only move a few inches. I have to pat it in and, even then, I have to dot myself excessively. Not really a problem when used as a face lotion, but will eat through the whole bottle if attempting to use it as a body lotion.

So far, so good. I have been using this daily for a couple of weeks. No skin sensitivities from using this product and I have pretty sensitive skin. I haven't had extended sun exposure yet so I do not know how it performs. Only complaint is that is leaves a white haze on my skin but that is to be expected from any product with Zinc. Hopefully will be able to give a five star review once I have had prolonged sun exposure.

This product remains pretty greasy and when you are on your bike in the 108 degree heat of the desert, it's important to feel like your skin can breathe.

My wife and I were looking for a natural organic SPF product that would not irritate our skin, mainly one that does not have the active ingredients oxybenzone and octinoxate and we are very happy to have found this one. The ingredients are very simple and clean. The bonus is that it is slightly tinted and doesn’t leave that whitish film that most high SPF products leave on the skin. It does not feel greasy, blended right into the skin and did not clog our pores. Hardly has a scent which is great because my wife hates when a lotion overpowers her body mist. Just make sure you shake well and click the pump a few times so that it will squirt out evenly. I see they also have other shades in medium and dark and non-tinted.
