The Vincent in the Barn: Great Stories of Motorcycle Archaeology Review: Great Book, You will be glad you bought this one ! - If you love motorcycles and remember "back in the day" this is a must read. These short stories collectively sew a wonderfully rich and colorful tapestry of those great stories guys tell other guys, who know and love bikes, that when shared cannot help but bring smiles and remembrance of a time past and another story not yet shared. All of Tom's books are great but I personally, particularly, enjoyed this one the most, for it's wide and diverse spectrum of experiences. A great page turner that you will be sorely tempted to speed through but pace yourself as each story is a gem to enjoy on its own. R.K.Ryan, Harrisburg, NC Review: Had a good time with this book - Had a good time with this book. My unfounded expectations were the only thing working against this title as I was hoping for a few more stories of regular joes who happened upon great finds whereas most were tales of the serious collector or museum making acquisitions. Still, extremely enjoyable and really gave some good insight into how these "holy grails" of motorcycle archeology actually take place! Ultimately I'd recommend the book to anyone interested in acquiring their own antique motorcycle.

Fascinating stories
I ordered this book in great condition and it looks brand new. There are so many interesting photos and stories in all Tom Cotter's books and very well-written and entertaining for my father, father-in-law, brother and friend. MERRY CHRISTMAS to a fine author, TOM COTTER

Great book !
If you're an old bike nut, and even if you're not, you will enjoy this book. It is a collection of short stories about the hunt for that proverbial "barn find" in which motorcycle enthusiasts either hunt for leads, are pointed to, or, stumble upon some old bikes that need new homes. This easy reading book is a mix of adventure, history and personal experiences from different parts of the country, and, the world.

Great Read For Any Motorcyclist
I too could not put down this book. The stories / tales of motorcycle finds from around the world within this book were all great reads. You'll read not only about Vincents, but Indians, Harleys, Triumphs, and many more bikes, some you may have never heard of. I highly recommend this book regardless of what brand motorcycle you ride. There is only one "con" to this book, and that is it has a ending. You'll think what a great read, I want to read more!

pretty good read
this book is quite well done. it is interesting and holds the attention throughout, even though i had read some of the stories elsewhere, perhaps the now-defunct old bike journal. i only wish that there were more stories from other contributors, as several are from just a few writers. stories of the long chase, the patient sleuthing, the leg work, disapointments and rewards are the best. this book is of the hard-to-put-down type, so don't expect to read a story or two. this one has earned a permanent place in the bookshelf.

The title is deceptive, it has less to do with Vincents although they do get a mention once or twice its more to do with Indians and Harley Davisons but, what can you expect it was written by an American and most of them can't tell the difference between a motorcycle that was the superbike of its era and the two wheel agricultural tractor that was being built in America. But, if you are a biker or a petrol head you probably still enjoy it.
