Sew Witchy: Tools, Techniques & Projects for Sewing Magick

Of course I am partial to the subject matter as a pagan crafter, but I own five books on regular old sewing that don't even come close to being as good at explaining everything about sewing that this book does. I'd recommend it to anyone of any religious affiliation that wanted to finally get a book that explains all the stuff they never tell you about when you start to sew. Where was this when I needed it 20 years ago?! The author has helped me to finally understand what half of my other sewing manuals were even talking about lol. Thank you Raechel Henderson! Also, the projects in this thing are stinkin' adorable and perfectly doable. Her instructions are seriously world class for anyone who has always needed someone to cut the crap and just tell them how to freakin' understand patterns and what the heck bias tape is and just plain old' talk them through how to sew. The whole book is just brilliant and I wish I had ten more on all the other subjects that people over complicate. If she ever writes one on knitting or crochet I'll be down for those too. Sign me up for whatever she writes next!

I'd say this book is just okay, there's nothing in there that I would really want to sew for myself. It all seems kind of like stuffed children would make not a full grown woman that would actually want to be seen in these items. Call me bougie if you want to but I like things more on the elegant side and this book is kind of just reminds me of craft class I expected something more geared towards grownups as far as the projects go. Yes the rest of the information is cool.

This is a very easy fun witchy way at sewing and bringing all your elements into a garment. Love this book and the author is simply lovely ❣️

I was looking for more clothes patterns, not crafts.. so was very disappointed, I would have liked to make the gnomes and the runes.. I know there are more runes, there is no page of all the rune symbols.. the picture instructions are very vague and incomplete for anything in the book.. definitely not for a novice.. I prefer to see by hand.. you have yo be s9mewhat skilled to take a machine stitch and make it your own...

As the title suggests, much of the book is intended to assist you in learning how to sew clothing. That is frankly not my interest, but I found the descriptions clear and understandable.But that's not all the book is. Raechel is a practicing Pagan, and so she discusses various Pagan practices one can incorporate into your sewing project. It's clear from the reading that Raechel is no dilettante in either sewing or her religion. I found this a very interesting and unusual book.

This is a really cool book. It has a lot of info and a lot of the author’s heart. Although the style of the projects is not my particular style the ideas are really totally adaptable. A great book for crafty inspiration and detailed information about how to add magic to your crafting.

This is a very basic sewing book. What I did like about the book is it reminds the sewer to be mindful of the process, how your material, thread, supplies can help heal, create positive energy for the person you are making the item for. For that, this book is perfect. Nice reminders.

I don't know what I expected to be honest. I guess I thought it would have patterns for flowy skirts and Bells sleeve tops. It was mostly projects for what a child could make as their first sewing project.There's a lot of decent information but for a sewing book? it was very meh.

The Projects are the most basic i have seen. Some do not even follow basic design decisions. someone with even a little bit of experience can do better. The book is false advertisement and was a waste of money and very disappointing!Lots of repetitionlots of blowing up text space without saying anything
