something to spruce up the cubicle
I was looking at my cubicle at work last week and realized it needed a bit of redo.Since I can't post Dilbert 2.0: 20 Years of Dilbert cartoons (bad for the company's morale) and I was already warned about having a crochet calendar in my cubicle (that's not a joke - I had to take it home), what could I do to brighten up my little corner of work.So I hit upon it - Crocheted Flowers (Twenty to Make) . I have yarn, I have crochet hooks and my hands are still working. M's Ollis worked her examples in size 3 crochet cotton, but I prefer to work with yarn. These patterns are easily adaptable to using almost any weight of yarn, depending on how big you want the flower to be.So tomorrow I will be pinning a bright orange cosmos on my cubicle wall. It worked up quickly (I used medium weight yarn)and will be the first of my "garden wall" at work. I don't think I can get in trouble for that.I have read thru the instructions and the patterns are clear and concise.Other patterns look good, I'm thinking the clematis for the next one to do. This book is small enough to pop in a bag with some yarn and a hook. That way when you are sitting at the doctor's office, waiting to be seen, you have something else to do but read about Tom Cruise's marriage - to Nicole Kidman. They don't use large amounts of yarn, so you could work up a bunch from the yarn you have left from that other project. It is fun to make a project quickly, a nice break from some of the longer, more involved projects that I have going on.I recommend this book highly for crocheters wanting to make quick flowers. I think it is especially good for beginners but even old hookers like me can learn something new.

A great flower crochet book
This book far out weigh my expectations. The flowers are wonderful and a delight, was looking for a crochet book with flowers and I got just what I wanted and more . My mind is going wild with the prospect of the many flowers I can make. Yes you can go ahead and get this you won't regret it or you can get it for someone you know who loves flowers

Fun Book
I am a novice at crochet, but I found this book fairly easy to understand with a little help from "google" to search out one or two of the terms for stitches. The photos in the book are large enough that you can see the details so that also helps me be able to "guess" my way into making the flower "look" pretty much the same.

Probably more for beginners.
Cuts little flowers, but nothing unusual. These flowers are more for beginners, IMO. Some of the flowers would be nice little gifts to include in a notecard that has pics of flowers. Or they could be adhered to the front of plain notecards with their stems drawn of green pen to add to the illusion and sent along to a recipient.

Great book!
I bought this book because the author's last name is OLLIS like mine. Now I am learning to crochet so i can make these flowers.

Nice but...
Nice designs for flowers, but this is written by an English author and the instructions are more difficult than if they were written by an American. They are "translated" into American, but the phrasing isn't waht we're used to. The designs though are beautiful. A bit pricey though for 17 flowers.

A lot of information in a little book.
I've given this book 5 stars because I love this range of books, I find them quite informative in a easy to understand manner. Each book contains how to instructions and several items to make using your new found skills.Great for the 1st time crocheter and the more experienced equally, I bought it as I'd not picked up a hook for years and needed a few reminders.Perfect for using odd bits of wool to adorne clothes, bags etc.

twenty to make
Another in this great series of little books. These are some lovely little flowers to make. The book is well laid out with the instructions and a picture of the flower and an alternative. you will need at least little knowledge of crochet before you make these flowers as although the instructions are clear and easy to follow there are no step by step pictures of what you are making and as a beginner you may find them hard to follow.I learned to crochet over 20 years ago but only recently taught myself to read a crochet pattern and they are easier that you think so give this book a try there is loads of information on the internet and youtube. you will be crocheting in no time.

A fun little book
I enjoy crochet but don't have a great deal of time on my hands, so this is ideal for when you have the odd 15 minutes to make something a bit fun.I was amazed how quickly I made the first flower. What I like is that they are not an exact science - you can make them with any wool that you have spare and get different effects, so it's great for using up left over bits of wool that you don't want to throw away. As I have very little money at the moment the flowers make great gifts that cost nothing to make if you have some scraps!

Dull and uninspurational patterns
Very dull and unimaginative patterns, many better options to download

A disappointing book
From the title of the book I expected that there would be 20 different flowers to crochet, not some made of material and some material with crochet.
