Consumes 60W at the highest speed, but makes the room feels much cooler. Certainly saves a great deal of energy considering that most HVAC units consume more than 1000 W.Very useful in improving the efficiency of AC units that are installed near the floor. Cold air tends to stay near the floor. Without this circulator there can be 5-10 degree difference even within a 300 sqf room.It is less useful in the winter (again for HVAC units that are installed near the floor), because warm air is more likely to spread to a wider area on its own as it ascends. But the circulator stills help bringing the warm air from the ceiling back down to the floor.Noise level is OK, and you can't barely notice it at the lowest speed level.The most efficient way to utilize this circulator:(1) After turning on your AC units for 20 minutes, use a infrared thermostat to find out the coldest spot within a room. It is usually right on top of the AC unit.(2) Place the circulator on that spot, and point the air flow toward the ceiling area on top of where you usually sit (e.g. the sofa if you are watching TV).(3) the circulator will drive the cool air upward (without the intervention it tends to settle down in the floor area in front of and not very far away from the AC unit), and then slowly descent from above you. And you will feel a lot cooler because of the cool air and the breeze.Comparison vs. Honeywell HFT114B Oscillating Super-Turbo High-Performance 3-Speed Fan:The Honeywell fan is $13 cheaper, consumes less energy (40W), its fan face can oscillate about 60 degrees, but you won't feel a thing standing 5 feet away from it. The two are as noisy at the highest speed level. Finally, the plastic material looks much sturdier in the Vornado. Conclusion: I would certainly buy another Vornado if I need a second fan.

You do pay a bit more for Vornado fans but they are worth it. This fan moves air and does it quietly. On high speed, it makes some noise but nothing excessive and for the output, it is a reasonable tradeoff. I have tried many other compact fans and this is the best due to the quality of its build and the way it moves air. This fan moves air more efficiently than my larger and more expensive room fan that I find myself moving this one around to where I need it (nice that it is small and light).I thought I would give an update. After 4 years of almost daily use, the fan finally started to die. When turned on I could see the blades attempting to spin up but there was too much resistance. If I put something thin in through the vents and gave the blades a few whacks it would spin up. I checked my order on Amazon and saw it was 4 years (to the day) since I ordered this fan. As Vornado has a 5-year warranty, I completed the warranty form on their website, sent them the required picture, and now have a new fan. Easy-peasy. I don't understand why some reviewers complain when their fan stops working but don't mention taking advantage of the warranty. Manufacturing issues do happen. A five-year warranty is unheard of in the world of fans, take advantage of it if you have an issue.

Tint with a PUNCH! I think of the line, "though she but little, she is FIERCE.." MAN oh man... if you're looking to cool off a room, she's it. I have a relatively small room, and on the middle setting, it keeps the air flowing and a lovely push of air through the night. The high setting is just not necessary because the middle is perfect. It keeps me consistently cool. When used in my living room which is open to my kitchen, the ENTIRE front of the house was full of moving air. It cooled the rooms immediately and that was on the high setting. I HIGHLY recommend this fan. It is small, it is very convenient in size honestly.. making it easy to place in just about any room or what have you. But it's power is tremendous. I spent nearly a week, daily, looking through reviews and researching fans before I was going to spend good money on one. This was well worth the money. Well worth it. Best money spent honestly because I can tell, if you care for it, clean it up from dust and the common sense things - it'll last a long time. I STAY hot, I live in North Florida and the humidity is enough to suffocate you.. but this fan saved my life so to speak 🤣 10/10 GET THIS. Don't wait. You've found the one. Get it. You're welcome 😊

This fan puts out more air and uses less electricity so its the ideal fan.It really move far more air than its small size would lead you to believe, its powerful and quiet even on LOW setting.Highly recommended for putting out more air than other fans its size.

This is my 4th one. First I bough many years ago, but after about 6 years, the bearings seemed to be going bad. The second one I bought for work to replace a less expensive fan that started squeaking after about year or so. The third was for home, but had a weird grinding noise. I tried it for a couple days, hoping it would go away. So I got a replacement. Nice and quiet like my others. The problematic fan is the reason for the deducted star.Fan moves a lot of air on low, turn it to high, and it will move a lot more, but it will just be loud. It's nice and compact and does what is needed.
