Great lamp for traveling or home.
This is the third Lumiens I have purchased. One was for my job site, one for personal use and one to use with batteries for travel. They are perfect. The light is better than most lamps and the neck is very flexible to get a perfect fit.

The LED's emit a nice soft bright 'neutral' white - quite unlike the harsh
I purchased this as a reading light for my wife for Mother's Day and she LOVES it! The LED's emit a nice soft bright 'neutral' white - quite unlike the harsh, intense, blue glare that so may less expensive units have. The Lumiens is nicely balanced (NOT top-heavy), secures well with a great clip, not too big (or small), and has a positive-action switch that, with one press turns the lite ON (bright), then, with a second press DIM's it somewhat, and, finally, with a third press, turns it OFF.The nine, 100,000-hour-rated, LED's [■] are encapsulated in a square-ish clear resin, recessed under the bezel, and shielded with a back panel to eliminate all-around sideways glare. Finally, the included USB power adapter runs cool, and, interestingly. has a tiny LED that changes color as the intensity of the attached light is changed. Altogether a very high-quality 'system' that is well-engineered and works like it should! My wife and I HIGHLY recommend this product!PS: [■] IMHO, less-expensive reading lights that have LED's rated at less than 100,000 hours WILL begin to fail within a few weeks or, at best, months. I guess that's one of the reasons why Lumiens includes a LIFETIME warranty. Spend $20 (or so) more 'up front' and buy something that'll serve you well for years!

This is great light. I am using as a book light
This is great light. I am using as a book light. As I like to read hard backed books;on a book stand. It was so hard to adjust my floor lamp so that it would not shine on the tv; while my husband was watching. The LED’s are such a great benefit for the eyes. This light shines across both pages; and past some onto the stand. Before when I used my adjustable light on the floor lamp; I was always having to move from page to page. Now all I do is flip the pages on my book. Wonderful !!!This light is so easy to adjust. It stays on firmly with the clip onto the stand.I love that I can plug in the ac adapter; as I read for hours usually. So not having to always use and change batteries; is a big plus. The outlet for where the ac wire plugs into the light is also very handy. I just reach my hand up to the top of the clip; and feel where it plugs in without even getting up to look. The switch is a push button that goes from off, to high light, to low light, and back to off; thus the same sequence. I would like the cord to be longer for my needs; sitting in a recliner with a table. But it is a good length; longer than others.I’ve had researched this and other lights for the past year. And now that I have it; could kick myself for taking so long to purchase it.It’s a great price. I called two large local music stores (the kind that sell instruments and such); they sell for twice as much ( and more).I received in good packaging; and in the time frame of standard free delivery.

best of the bunch
After researching every reading light I could find on Amazon, I tried this Lumiens L9, the Ivation Gooseneck 7, and Moonster 4-bulb. The Lumiens L9 is my favorite. It's brightest setting is just right for reading; not too bright. Clip strength is great and functions well. Using three double A is nice; I think people tend to have double A on hand more often than triple A. The other two lamps required AAA and weren't included, so I had to buy some just to try, and later return, those lamps. However, one of the AA batteries included in this Lumiens lamp was dented enough that I won't use it; quality control? The housing around the light extends beyond the light so there isn't glare; a feature most of the small clip-on lamps lack. Position of on/off switch on the clip is good. Would be great if both sides of the lamp had a touch-sensitive on-off switch. I wish there weren't two brightness settings; the lower setting is too dim and I would rather not cycle through an extra setting when all I want is on/off.I intended on finding a smaller lamp, so to read without disturbing my other half, but I couldn't find a decent smaller lamp. So we'll see how this goes for that requirement. Clipping this lamp on the curtain rod above the bed is working for now.

Lighted area covers music on entire stand
I really like the brightness of this stand light! I've tried some others, buy they just weren't adequate. This one is long enough that it covers the entire stand area, so you can see *all* the music. It's also bright enough for me, even on the lower setting. It can be used with either batteries or power adapter, which is great when you don't know what kind of environment you're going to be in when rehearsing/performing. The clip is sturdy, but I think it should be used on a solid, flat, full "desk" (stand top), not a wire stand. I think it would be too top-heavy on those flimsy wire stands (Sorry, I haven't tried it on one of the heavier wire stands to see if that would work. Maybe someone else has done so and can write a review about it).

bright, large light (good for 2-3 pages)
I bought this stand light because my old one was too small. I am very happy with it so far and have used it for several rehearsals and gigs with no issues. The light is good enough for 2-3 pages. Maybe 4, but that would be a stretch. I added my old smaller light to get good coverage for a 4 page spread.I'm not sure how long the battery life is yet, but if I encounter problems, I'll update this review. So far so good. I like that you can plug it straight into the wall too (good for home studios etc.). The grip is strong and fits well on a Manhasset stand. The included batteries worked right out of the package. The product feels well made and if it stands up to use, well worth the price.

Grand Piano Stand Light
I am using this to attach to a Grand Piano music stand. It fits well and provides a lot of light. I like the flexibility of having an AC adapter or running off batteries. It is plenty bright and I'm happy with the product.

Good, but pricey.
It is a good product, but should be a little cheaper - probably about $50.00?

OK for what I bought it for, with some improvements suggested
I bought this lamp for reading in case of power shortage. I did not want rechargeable batteries. It comes with 3 AA. The light is good for reading, and the two intensities available are useful. However, the clip is difficult to operate, too tight, and it's too small. I use the lamp on a small table that fits well on my sofa chair. The clip does not hold up well on that table, I had to use two additional clips to hold it properly. The arms of the lamp should be longer. All in all, I give it a 3 ratings, because it fits the purpose for which I bought it for.
