Happy to add this to our home library
This book is beautifully illustrated and a perfectly scaled back presentation of Darwin's theory. We used it in a homschool unit study with my 6 and 8 year old but I can see going back to this year after year.

Informative, great explanation of difficult concepts, wonderfully illustrated.
Love this book! My 8 year old was intrigued, a bit advanced for the 5 year old but he liked the pictures and I think a few readings through and he’ll grasp the concepts. Beautiful illustrations. The direct quotes from Darwin are difficult for sure but I like the authenticity they lend.

It does not explain natural selection
The art is amazing and the text is well-crafted, pleasurable to read, but there is no or almost no references to mutations so the explanation of natural selection is lacking.
