WOODCRAFTProject Paper Plan to Build Arts & Crafts Blanket Chest - Material Not Included

Plans are almost complete. Double-check the cut list and instructions as you go. Some errors and oversights, but not many. The mounting dimensions for my lift didn't work, so there are a few holes in wrong place inside. Lift specified was perfect to support lid and softly close. Got it at NAPA. Great concept overall. Built mine with solid cherry panels instead of plywood. Biscuit joinery works very well. Took 100 hours total effort including about 20 hours assistant's time. You definitely will need a helper. To personalize, I used dovetail joinery on drawers with walnut sides for contrast. This one was a gift to my 2 year-old twin goddaughter's to be used as a toybox while they are young and then as a hope chest later. Estimated capacity for main chamber is 1500 matchbox cars!

We are almost finished building our first blanket chest with this pattern. It looks nice. A bit more "mission style" then I would have liked. My husband and builder of the chest, tells me the plans are not the easiest to follow or understand. Over all though, our project is quite nice.

These plans more than met my expectations. They are however a bit complicated for a beginner to tackle.They are close to the Greene & Greene design elements. I'm eliminating the lower drawers and resizing to be a hope chest.
