Bilal: A New Breed of Hero

An Amazingly made movie with a motivational story. Watched it with my kids but it has some violent bits so I skipped the really violent ones. (but this is a true story that really happen so the people actually experienced those violence!)But I did not like that they didn't use the words Islam, Muhammed (Saw), or Muslim. Because the Prophet Muhammed (Saw) was a big influence on Bilals life. Another thing for you to know is that they called Abu Bakr (Ra) "Al Siddiq" rather than his name. But other than that this was movie that we all need to see. And it was very beautiful when Abu Bakr told Bilal that God (Allah) created everyone equally and in the eyes of god there is no "Black person" or "White Person". And now I can also SHOW my kids the struggles others faced just for there freedom and that we now don't have to (always) do that. 10/10

Thank you so much for creating this amazing animated film. The animation alone was brilliant! And we all need to know the truth, We all have been highjacked by this darkness for many years. We are all indoctrinated and the greatness of all cultures have been blacked out. As I looked at the title, I wondered, "what I would see"? I no longer watch most films, neither TV. So what did I see? I saw my same struggle with the same forces in my world, my Country. I can say I live here or there, but I live everywhere, because it is everywhere in the world that we suffer the same forces. I wasn't abducted, but I have been isolated, by those who are so close to me, and have either been born into the dark, or succumbed out of survive, to such horrific global darkness. This film has hope, and especially hope for our most innocent and vulnerable, our babies and youth. You only need to look up to see the stars God has blessed this film with. I'm an American. I am everyone who cannot speak or enjoy what I have seen. I'm dedicated to the Glory of God's creation. This is God's kingdom. No force is greater. Thank you so much for freeing us as we move forward into the light until all Countries are free. I fight with my mind as I absorb forces for good. May the Peace of God be with you. Lauri Rhymer

I watched this with my 5th grade daughter. She has already been exposed to war in history lessons and STAR Wars movies. The story focuses on the deep love and bond of traditional family. A brother and sister are victim to an attack by oppressive soldier, their mother is taken from them and they become slaves to a cruel Pagan King who worships power and money. The boy Bilal is the protector of his sister and in doing so becomes a target of the Kings wicked son. Bilal responds to the hopeful message of freedom from invisible chains of hate and begins to believe in his own dignity. The Lord of the Merchants raises Bilal to the status of a brother and also buys his freedom from his master the King. A war breaks out between the King who's power is threatened and those who like Bilal believe in one God and the equality of all people. The battle scenes are intense and well done. The ending will not disappoint and the story keeps one engaged throughout. Appropriate for age 11 & 12 with parental guidance and post view discussion. Not recommended for younger children.

I saw a cartoon movie with a brown kid and thought yay some diversity. Well, this movie is not for small children and the recommended age of 13 or older is spot on. But rather than turning it off after that was apparent within the first 10 min. I got into it and watched the entire movie. The story is great and heartwarming and yes it is religious but in the same vein to me as the Prince of Egypt. It is not shoving religion down your throat and it is a coming of age story with religious elements. And although I clicked on this movie trying to find something to watch with a toddler I am still happy that this movie gives tweens a different type of story to watch with a diverse list set of characters.

First, this is a religious movie. I watch movies prior to letting my children watch them. We are not a actively religious family. That being said, the movie was engaging, enjoyable, and I feel that the movie would be suitable when my children are a bit older, as the movie suggests. The only reason I did not rate it 5 stars, is because it is a bit misleading about the religious underpinning until the very end. This was still a good movie, and I encourage it for those willing to look past religion or desiring to see a story from a different cultural background.

This is some of the best animation I've seen. Hyper-realistic. If for no other reason, watch this film to see wonderful animation.Story is pretty standard peasant/slave to hero line you find in all cultures. So, for the people whinging about its religious content - it's a story about a specific religion's hero. Of course it will have some, but it wasn't presented in a rub-in-your-face way though, gratefully.So enjoy this at whatever level you want because the voice acting and technical aspects carry the story at all levels. I'd love to see Gilgamesh done this well.

This story is very moving and has very good animations to go with it. Prior to starting the movie, I planned to watch only a fraction of it and then continue some other day, but I just couldn't tear myself away.Some comments talk about the religious aspect of the movie which rubs them the wrong way, and I think that it shouldn't affect how you feel about the movie. As long as it stays true to the historical and cultural context of the time, we can all learn something from it and enjoy the movie at the same time.I recommend a watch!

This was a very well made and inspiring movie. The movie did not get the publicity and fame it deserved.It tells an ongoing human story going back more than 1500 years where slavery, greed and hate was common to be confronted with the exceptional human qualities of love, equality and forgiveness.The digital effects and production was amazing.Kids will love the inspiring tale of kindness and strength and rejection of unequality.For those low star reviewers saying it was a religous movie.. it wasn't about religion but about faith and humanity.. regardless of your faith!

This is magnificent.A little long winded, but a thoroughly engrossing and beautifully crafted animation of extremely high quality.Very highly detailed and texture rich, this entire production flows like a flawless fable of the greatest order.As history goes, it seems to garner the idea of early Islamic philosophy and tells the beautiful, but very harsh story behind a growing faction that culminates with the initiation of the first call to practice, and thus formulation of, the first Muslim teachings at a unified gathering.The story, however, is a very grounded and human based tale of purity and peace disrupted by greed and animosity. Families and dreams destroyed by inhumane beliefs and vile actions by wicked hearts to support the shallow ideas of idolitory money worship.This is an epic venture by the writers, producers, voice actors, artists, animators and musicians.And it works. It pays off beautifully.The grand realisation, the revealing of an ancient knowlege in a new light, that dispelled the darkness of treachery, and brings about the dawning of a new religious movement. A way of life, for a proud and noble people.The quality of the animated detail is equal to that of Pixar, if not superior. A beautiful flow of scenic movement and pseudo camera work. Colour palette, landscape design, modeling and brilliant CGI have rendered this film into probably one of the best animated films ever.

Excellent movie chronicling the life one of the most influential people who lived. Great starting point for others to look in to his life.

Brilliant graphics! Well beyond my expectations.
