Simple, effective design; tricky to adjust.
They are manufactured by a company in the Netherlands, funded by a Kickstarter campaign. The engineering and production quality seem to be on par.In the box, you'll receive one pair of the devices, a small carrying case, along with an interchangeable set of the actual earpieces on the ends, which go inside your ears, allowing you to switch between the set you see pictured, and a more traditional foam set. They do feel a bit light and, given how apparently simple the design is, a bit overpriced for what you get. That is somewhat understandable, given that they are the first of their kind, and of Dutch design. Still, a bit disappointing. If you have trouble with earplugs, like me, these have a learning curve. It will take a while before you can wear them for extended periods without pain. It took me quite a while to figure out how to get them in, and how they were supposed to fit. They are not supposed to PLUG your ears, like when you stick your fingers in. It's also difficult to adjust the "volume" without disturbing them and having to readjust.I didn't find a lot of use for them until I bought a pair of bone conduction headphones, and made a fun discovery. When the headphones and the knops are adjusted just right, the headphones conduct sound using the knops, making it quite loud and bassy, as well as blocking out other unwanted sounds. And the headphones and the knops both have the dual purpose of being able to hear ambient sounds when you need to, merely having to adjust the knops. They are a very cool, if a tad simplistic, product, which, hopefully, will become more generic and less expensive over time.

No silence, but reduces sound
I travel a lot and purchased this to help with airplane noise. It didn’t silence the noise but audibly reduced it. When I first received the knops, I tried them out in a quiet room and was not impressed. Later that day we had a long car ride and I tried them again. I could hardly hear the road noises and it reduces the overwhelm from auditory input. The only thing I dislike about these is that they are a little large and make my ear sore after wearing them for an extended time. For short flights, it works great. For 16 hour car trips- my ears were sore and I ended up removing them before we arrived at our destination. Overall, I’m glad I got them and use them regularly (for short periods of time).

Misophonia
I suffer from misophonia so I bought these to help drown out trigger sounds. They work pretty well when it comes to lessening noises that I don’t want to hear. I wish they were a little easier to place in my ears and that they were a bit smaller and discreet.

Expensive ear plugs
They really are just expensive earplugs. Couldn't get one of them to seat correctly.

Too big too hard hurt my ears
These were way too big and they were hard and actually caused pain. Concept sounds good but poor execution. You can achieve a better effect with Jabra elite 65t active ear buds which can do so much more. If you can’t spebd that kind of money go to a musicians store and pick up soft musicians ear plugs. I ended up getting both. Jabra has best sound masking app avail. If you go with some other ear buds or ear phones try rain rain app. Can mix sounds to you specific ear tolerances.

Not noise cancelling, intended to provide personal “volume control” and do just that
These are great for people with sensory sensitivities. Mine are now as important as remembering to grab my “phone, keys, and wallet” when leaving the house. They are very helpful in lowering the intensity of sound without disturbing the quality or muffling it entirely.

Probably my most disappointing purchase lately
Bought right from the source to save 10 bucks, said they shipped next day. A month later still not shipping or responding to contact, right up until I filed a complaint. Then I actually got them and... yikes. These are probably the most disappointing thing I can remember purchasing. The material is really cheap. It feels like the stabilizers will just crumble off, and they don't actually fit human ears very well anyway (I've never had any issue with ear fit with any plugs or earbuds, so I have no reason to believe I just have unusual anatomy). They're very top heavy and don't stay in well. Noise cancellation is mediocre at best. Ear tip foam feels cheap.I would return them, but honestly the company is so difficult to deal with that I don't have the energy.Wish I'd listened to the reviews. I'm back to my simple silicone ear plugs, and it's night and day.

Waste of money did not work a little
When i first say this product i was so excited. I quickly signed up and bought one pair. Then changed my order to two pairs one for my husband. When we finally received it over a few months past schedule I was eager to try it. I put them on and it just simply did not work. I didn't want to give up so i gave my friend who is a professional musician the ear plugs to try. He also couldn't get them to work. I was so disappointed. I shipped them back and between paying for insurance, and Knops return policy I lost about $100 that i can't recover. I hope no one else looses money over these. I look forward to when they actually discover all that they claim to provide.
