Wanted a colored split shot for ice fishing. These are the only ones I could find. I like to put one about 8 inches above the shiner to help drop it down in the water. Definitely helped at Winnipesaukee because of the water depth. They are a little tricky to put on. To get them back off the line squeeze the opposite ends. They are only painted green, so if you get carried away with your pliers, you will chip the paint off. Do not go by the size if you are comparing them to regular tin split shot. Find a size comparison chart on the internet. This was the biggest size I could find. They are slightly smaller than a #4 split shot from Eagle Claw.

I love the container these weights come in, I also think the Green color makes them harder for trout to detect. These are always of a consistent size, so one would assume the weight is pretty close as well.

works like a charm. just wish that in 3 years when I'm approaching the end of the supply the dispenser would work as well as it does now.

not a lot of split shot in here for ten bucks, but should work fine
