I found this does the job without having to disassemble the basket and rod off of the unit. It works very well and I was able to use the same mix for multiple cleanings.

Saves a lot of work. Overnight soak and a little brushing cleans very well.

The Sun Shock Ionizer and the Cleaning Solution work perfectly. Initially I was disappointed because I could not see any action during a several hour long test. I contacted Remington‘s customer service and they immediately send me a new copper anode. I had to go on a 10 day business trip and upon my return I was able to test again with the new anode. Same disappointing result. I contacted Remington again and to make a long story short, I was now beyond the return date of 30 days and Remington send me a brand new panel that works perfectly for more than a month now. My friends an family can‘t believe how clean my pool water is and I am very pleased with Remington‘s customer service. I just had bad luck with a faulty solar panel that may have been damaged at transport from the factory or it shorted for some unknown reason. Point is, Remington stands behind their product, their customer service is excellent and I have clean water and use less chlorine.

This works to clean off the Sun Shock anode. Three notes:1) I didn't realize I could re-use the same cleaner/water mix multiple times (until I watched a video) so I wasted quite a bit. Better instructions are needed.2) if you leave the mesh cage on, it will not clean the top of the anode.3) you need to take the mesh cage every few weeks to empty out the residue.It does work, and you don't have to put on rubber gloves and scrub the anode with a steel brush. I will purchase this again.I love my Sun Shock!

I am physically challenged, and getting up there in age. Anything to make life easier and help me stay independent is warmly welcome. This is one of them. Used a pickle jar like other reviewers recommended, fixed the mixture, took the Remington Sun Shock unit out of the pool and brought it into the kitchen where I rinsed it in the sink, wiped it clean and set it to soak in the coil cleaner overnight. Next day I rinsed it, in the sink again, and placed it back in the pool. Easy! Only had to bend down to take the unit in and out of the pool. And of course clean the sink.

You still definitely need to brush it to get all the gunk off. But the solution makes it easier.

I used it as soon as it arrived. Followed how to use and see it work in minutes after soaking it. And effortless work. Just like it said soak and rinse. All I did. I would recommend to someone as well keep using product.

Purchased for the first time and I am very happy! Makes coil cleaning so much easier!
