Calm with The Very Hungry Caterpillar (The World of Eric Carle)

My little one started to pick up on counting before her second birthday so I ordered this book. She loves to read it together and she’ll even flip through it by herself and count the dots on each page. Each number has something that will appeal to each kid, no matter what type of learner they are. And 2 pages are dedicated to each number.For example, the 2 page on the left has 2 dots at the top and the number 2 in the middle. The 2 page on the right has TWO in the middle and 2 animals at the bottom.I can see her enjoying this book for several years.

As someone with a master's degree in clinical psychology, I have been on a search for a simple way to teach my 3 year old son how to self soothe. He's a huge Hungry Caterpillar fan, so I thought he'd love this book and we aren't disappointed! He wants to read it every night before bed and I do think that the deep breaths the book illustrates give him a more concrete understanding of what to do versus my just trying to show him. Absolutely a great purchase and a nice short read.

Uses the Eric Carl illustrations to guide a kid through a tiny meditation. Except the kid will NOT sit and listen to a book when they need this.

This is a great book to share with little ones about feelings and mindfulness. Using it with a class of kindergarteners and it works wonders.

Wonderful product to teach young child calming down strategies!

Great book for helping your child to understand their feelings. Not, perhaps, in the moment they need to calm down... as a note on that- the book is sturdy and can withstand a direct hit to drywall from across the room.

Definitely a great way to center my spirited 3 year old. We even have a copy for preschool if he gets a little out of hand. Super cute!

Bought this to help my 4 year old who is suffering with anxiety that she doesn't understand, however there's nothing too it, yes the pictures are pretty, but it's nothing more than counting to 10, take a deep breath and illustrating a happy person and a sad person, I had hoped for more.

Daughter almost 3 struggling with anger following arrival of new brother and death of our dog, this book really really helped her in those moments
