I ordered the 3000 series and it has been great for fishing in the bay area and lakes. I put 250 yards of 20lb braided line on it. I caught a lot of bluegills, some catfishes. It very smooth and anti-reverse works great.. Another great feature about this reel is that you can change it right or left handed. I really like the quality of this spinning reel feels really great and sturdy. The handle can be folded for easier transportation and the wooden handle is way better than the padded ones.

Took this guy out shark fishing with my wife and it worked wonders. Sadly for the size that was biting it was a little over sized and made the sharks unable to fight. Though it did boost my confidence in the reel as it handles well casts wonderful an made our experience great!Edit: After seven months of running this reel ragged and never as much as rised it. It finally seized up. After a little WD-40 and working the parts they were back to running smooth. Might run a little smoother once I reapply some reel grease!

Got the 8000 size.Not a bad reel. Very sturdy. A bit heavy. It has an oiled felt drag that has a small seal on it. Bearings are not smooth and a little crunchy. Reel tension changes as the spool moves up and down indicating something is not aligned or bent. All and all it's not terrible for ~30 but I'm not sure I'd pay any more than that for it.Edit: Taking a star because there is very little clearance between the spindle wire and the rod. Meaning if you have thick hands or there is a thick grip on the rod it will be hitting your hand as you reel.

The felt like a toy, the paint was peeling off the reel side cover, and you can feel it's made out of plastic not graphite composite. after placing the handle and screwing it in, the handle was still loose and rocking in and out while spinning, although i made sure it was properly placed and in position.The handle also supposedly made out of aluminum alloy, however didn't feel like it and for sure didn't look like aluminum either. I felt it was going to brake.The spool is also cheaply made, and you can tell just by feeling it, however the size and capacity was correct as advertised.If you are a serious habitual fisherman, please stay away from this product.Good luck to all.

I bought this reel in December but didn't get to use it until last week. I went down to Florida and caught a pile of nice fish with it and it worked great. Now the reel feels like it's going to fall apart- something isn't right, it didn't hold up very well at all. I guess it worked good when it was new but I wouldn't rely on it for another trip

I bought this reel for big game fishing in rivers. This reel has smooth action, good casting ability, and fast line retrieval. The line capacity is not as much as I would like because I use heavier lines. You also have to pair it up with heavy action rod. It's a very nice looking reel. All in all this a very good reel for the money. love it.

I knew the real would be big but I wasn't expecting all of that going to test it out soon so I'm not going to judge you yet but the size is a little intimidating
