Beautiful and functional
After some research, I decided to give this set a try. I do not have an induction stove--I rent and have little choice, so I'm stuck with electric coils. But what I was really after was a good, sturdy set of pots and pans that did not have non-stick coating. Based on reviews as well as having the selection of pans that I most wanted (including a stock pot and two sizes of skillets), this was my choice. Now, I've never had a set of pots and pans that didn't have non-stick coating, and I was nervous--partly because I hate having to scrub and partly because I didn't want to ruin food. But several reviews mentioned using oil to coat the pan. I've tried several of the pans for various things, and I used a tiny bit of coconut oil. And let me tell you--NOTHING has stuck! Not hamburger, not sauces, not ham steaks, not pastas. In fact, these pans have washed up quicker and with less sticking than any non-stick I every used! I have not experienced any discoloration, and as I said, cleanup has been a breeze (I've handwashed--it will be a long time before I put these in the dishwasher...they are just too pretty). The most surprising thing I found was how bottom heavy these are--not having ever had induction-ready pots and pans, I had no idea that they were SO heavy. But that's just something I'll get used to (and I had to shore up the drawer that holds them, but hey!). My only complaint is that there is no lid that fits the smaller skillet--Everything else has a lid that fits, but not that one. It's sad, since as a single person, I use small skillets most often. I would have much preferred a lid for the little skillet rather than the three utensils (which I will never use--they might scratch my beautiful pots and pans!) And just as a note, I live at about 5000 feet, and I did have to turn the burners up to HI in order to boil water--after waiting 20 minutes with it on med-hi, I just gave in. So there MIGHT be times you need to turn it to HI when using electric coils, but I was able to turn it down quickly and still maintain bubbling once it got going. Excellent set--I'm very happy with it.

Like I remember from my days working in a commercial kitchen.
UPDATE: I wanted to follow up after my initial review. I don't review products often. I got this set as I was previous cook in a commercial kitchen and wanted a quality relative at home as I cook often. I have had these for over a year now, and with the COVID pandemic, I have been cooking even more than usual as it's not just a hobby, but a passion. These pots are ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! After years, these posts have withstood a beating without any issues with the construction. I have cooked anything and everything in these and they are still like brand new. They still cook evenly and at the same temperature as expected. If anyone is experiencing color changes and/or spots, this is 100% normal. These pots are made to withstand elements and heat, maybe occasional burn marks. The good thing is, they are indestructible. Take some barkeeper's friend and polish them to bring them back to brand new. Wash them promptly after each use, dry them quickly and please "DON'T SET THE HEAT TOO HIGH". These distribute heat more than you would think. I never boil water more than an 8/10 setting on my stove. This is more than enough to get the job done. I am more than happy with this set, and will most definitely buy another set when the time comes (if it ever comes as solid as these are). ORIGINAL REVIEW: So far, the build quality is excellent. I haven't used all pieces as of yet and will update later. I absolutely love the flat bottom and heat distribution. It has been years since I have used quality stainless steel pots and pans and they do require a bit of care and know-how, but are well worth it. The price for this set seems like a steal. I was very skeptical because of that. But after unpacking these guys, and firing up for the first time, I feel like I'm back in a commercial kitchen, (even though I have an electric flat top stove). The first thing I noticed was the boil was even... 100% even! Then I wanted to test a little bit and purposely charred the sides and let my 11 year old cook eggs in thee small fry pan. Bar Keeper's Friend made that disappear like they were straight out of the package again. Those were the only times I had to use anything except basic Dawn detergent and sponge. These things are built to last! I absolutely would recommend this set to anyone tired of the "non-stick" Wal-Mart specials that might give you a year before you realize you are eating the coating. If you are on the fence and would like to know if spending the money is worth it... let me tell you. These are worth every penny and then some! Just make sure you give them TLC as they are build to last, not a gimmick egg in a pan with no seasoning or coating. 100% recommend. Just know, a little effort is necessary to keep them as beautiful as you want them to be. Would buy again in a heartbeat!

Beautiful and substantial set
Beautiful and substantial set, both in weight and number of useful pieces. We bought the set to use with a relatively new ceramic cooktop and although it's early days, the pieces we've used so far (both sauce pans, both fry pans and saute pan) have worked beautifully! We have never used stainless, so we did a lot of reading and "YouTubing" before "pulling the trigger". We seasoned all of the pans with oil before use and have been using lower heat settings than we were using with our previous, aluminum, coated cookware. So far, the results have been terrific. Great tasting food (as usually), but the caramelized finish on beef and chicken is awesome! And our biggest concern, cleanup, has basically been a non-issue. All of our pans have wiped clean with water and a non-abrasive pad with the exception of the 10" fry pan after cooking some marinated chicken breasts. After the pan cooled, we filled it with water, let it soak for about an hour and wiped it clean. We are complete novices to stainless cooking, but here are some random thoughts which may be useful: +Well packaged, swift delivery and all items new and undamaged. Amazon product description correctly reflects package contents. +The handles stay cool when cooking on the stovetop. +The pans are substantial and some small or weakened individuals may find them more cumbersome than what they are used to. I would not categorize them as heavy or unmanageable, however. +If you do not have ample storage space or hooks to hang your pans, and will have to stack them, I would advise purchasing pot protectors or small micro fiber towels as spacers between your pans. +Sadly, the fry pans don't have lids and none of the other lids in the set fit either fry pan. We had on glass lid from an old set that fit the 10" fry pan, but I'd love to be able to get proper lids that match the set. +Can't stress this enough: DO NOT cook with high heat. We're finding "medium" to be our new "high" with most cooking being done in the medium-low range. You will get a great cook, and so far, we are not having issues with food sticking to our pans (touch wood). Will update if things change.

A lot better than I expected
I have this set, bought from Amazon. I consider it good value for the money. I will answer some concerns others have had with their sets. My set was shipped to me in the original manufacturers box that was probably in a container with a zillion others. Amazon shipped it in another box with space and packing around the shipper box which took any abuse UPS could throw (literally) at it. Lets talk about that shipper box which again was a box within a box. Everything was held by designed cardboard packing material that fit the pieces and held them away from the sides. It was packed like it was headed for a mess kitchen at the front (or they were aware of the gorillas that ups uses). If the UPS truck had run over it, it still might have held up, maybe. Amazon is starting to realize, and pack for the kind of handling that mass delivery systems can dish out. This is well made stainless steel cookware; it has an aluminium sandwich on the bottom so the heat distribution is more even and it works on induction cooktops (I have a couple of NuWaves and a 30 inch GE all induction cooktop). This is not commercial cookware. I worked in college as a cook, and we never had anything anywhere near this good. Commercial pans get rough treatment from the cooks, and a lot of steel wool and hard grease cutters from the dishwasher, and everything goes through the dishwasher, the guy and the machine. Commercial pots usually have flat stainless steel lids also. This set is really nice home cookware, much better than commercial quality. These pots are not eye candy. They are brushed stainless which you can't see your face in. The brushed finish holds oil better. The pot handles are large and stay cool, the lid handles can get hot. Tip: Get Barkeepers Friend Cookware cleaner for when you screw-up, we all do. Buy in multiples, it is cheaper that way. It's on Amazon. I think all the Barkeepers is the same stuff in different packaging, but I might be wrong. Tip: Also get the Magic Jetz scrubbers on Amazon, they are easier on the pans than steel wool or ghod forbid those squiggly stainless steel scrubbers or chainmail (use that on your cast iron stuff). A little advice to those new to stainless cookware. Use the PAM on your Teflon pans, not these. I use duck fat or pretty much any oil. Start out on medium heat (5 out of 10) with something in the pan. Then when you have food in the pan, you can ramp up the heat a little, or even a lot. You will learn your own style as far as heat control goes. You can maintain your desired level at a lower heat once you get there. Gas, Induction, Ceramic, and Halogen will give you faster response to control numbers than electric burners. If you cookware changes color (straw to brown to purple to blue) you are way too high in the heat and you can damage the pan. If you just have to see what it will do, put 2 liters of cold tap water in the 4.2 qt casserole and let her rip. My GE induction cooktop will boil it in 4.5 min from 50 degrees on level 10, and maintain it on level 3. Remember, when it is hot enough, back it down. Last tip: get a ThermoWorks Thermapen here on Amazon, the price is right and they are really useful. Get a bright color so you can find it quick. You will be surprised how often you overcook food.

Happy shopper
I bought this set after purchasing a few other pots and pans from different brands.. I love all .. My review on these pots are crazy .. I recomend this set for a single person or a couple.. they're not of size for large gathering since only the sautè pan is of the size for a quantity still not large .. I cooked a pelaoʻ for me and my brother.. it came out great .. I hot my pot after giving it a nice wash.. on slow gasstove top.. then poured oil allowed to hot the put in my chicken to lock it did get a nice brown.. I always wanted to make chine style chicken en soya sauce.. it came out really nice in color and flavor.. took out the used to sautè vegetables add rice water and cook steamed and was as a chines dice bought from a take home restaurant.. I recommend this set is really a great quality cooks great and it's cheap.. my 2 dishes are the proof of even heating heating.. for me all stainless steel needs to use with slow heat so please don't cook if your hungry at the same time .. i tried that with my Muller pot it burned too much heat.. so I knew that I needed to keep it slow very stove.. it brings out all your flavors..I used a wooden spoon I had no scratch so far.. they are really heavy pots .. but since they're very small in size eay to handle them and also to clean.. love them happy shopper.

100% excellent!
So I bought this set after literally 2 weeks of investigating SS cookware, reading reviews, warranties, etc. I was hesitant to buy because I have been using a Wolfgang Puck set for over 15 years. It's still a very functional set and has held up well but I wanted new! Compared to Cuisinart, T-Fal, Cook's Choice, and others, this is superior. Anyway, the reviews on this set mention water spots, discoloration, sticking. Okay people, that is an EXPECTED outcome when you cook with SS. First of all, know how to clean it- with Bar Keeper's Friend, which is cheap and a little goes a long way! It will keep the SS shiny and like new! Also, if you run the pan under water while it is hot it will deglaze any leftover food making cleaning a snap! Second, the impact bonding is done VERY well...the cook is even and does not burn for me- no hotspots! Third (and the most important), this is not a non-stick set! SS cookware, unless you specifically buy with a non-stick interior, it is going to stick to some degree. BUT, you have to know how to cook with it and be a nimble chef who is aware of the needs of SS pots and pans. You can't crank up the heat and use butter. It will burn and so will the eggs. I use the organic canola oil spray or butter but I put it on a low heat and let it come up to temp. I have made fried eggs in these pans at least 4 times so far and I have no issue. If you use olive oil, it burns easy so that is another consideration. So, in the end, I am 100% happy with this set and I can tell you this is not a set for the weak! It's a heavy, well made in the USA set that is worth the $$.

... just received this item and they have a very nice look to them
We just received this item and they have a very nice look to them. We have used them once so far for scrambled eggs. The pan was preheated and we wiped it with olive oil. We cook our eggs on a lower temperature. They did not burn but it took a little work to get the pan clean, but it wasn't bad. This was to be expected. The three star rating comes from the medium sauce pan had a couple of scratches on the inside bottom and the size of the large frying pan was disappointing. It is a 10" fry pan with only 7" of cooking surface. We had a 10" caphalon with our old set and it was at least 8" in terms of cooking surface. We expected it to be bigger I guess. The other point that I didn't pay attention to is the measurement marks but they are not etched but some sort of overlay and they are only in metric. The lids seem awfully light for a supposed higher end product. Overall, we are happy enough with them not to return until we get to use them more. It is a great looking set and looks and feels like good quality. We also love the large sauté pan. I'm not sure how much difference it makes when the cladding is only on the bottom and not up the sides (like All Clad). We didn't want to spend twice the price for All Clad, so we tried to go to the next price point. We looked at this and one of the cuisinarts. The cuisinart had a mirrored finish and didn't have glass lids. Keep in mind this says 17 pieces but in fact it counts the 3 cooks utensils as part of the 17. The meat and potatoes of this set is that it's 7 pieces of cookware. We are currently at 3 stars until we have time to find out how well these items produce over time.
