From the Manufacturer Lightweight, PROFESSIONAL-grade aluminum telescoping pole saw - the pole saw of choice by professionals. The aluminum alloy extension poles are oval shaped, providing precise control over the direction of the blade (especially important for high cutting) thus reducing bending to the minimum. The base pole has a pole-end shock absorber and comfortable rubberized overgrip. The 13-inch impulse-hardened curved blade utilizes proprietary Silky MIRAI-ME (Smooth Cutting) Technology - The Teeth of the Future! The precision-ground, razor-sharp teeth with four cutting angles provide fast, clean and extremely smooth cutting action. Blade thickness is 1.5mm. The taper-ground profile reduces drag and directs more usable energy to the cutting edge. It is ideal for pruning branches at higher position without ever climbing a ladder. Black rigid-plastic blade cover is included. To allow effective use of ZUBAT pole saws, two locking systems are incorporated to assure structural rigidity of the extended poles: 1) locking pins/buttons - the primary pole locking mechanism; and 2) friction clamps - the secondary pole locking mechanism. The two systems are designed to work together. This dual locking system allows 100% of the effort at the handle to be effectively transferred to the blade up to 21 feet away. Spring-loaded locking buttons allow multiple length adjustments and safety friction clamps hold the extensions firmly in place. Safety considerations require that the pole saw user must wear a hard hat and eye protection at all times. Made in Japan. Manufacturer Warning: Do not use aluminum telescoping pole saws around electrical power lines or equipment. Electrical shock may result. Incorrect use of the Silky pole saw may cause injury. Limited lifetime warranty against defects in material and workmanship.

Worth it
I am using this to cut fronds and pods out of a pindo palm that has grown too tall to prune on a ladder with hand saw. Last year I used a popular pole saw sold in big box stores and the blade flexed too much and the saw took quite a bit of effort to get through large pods. I have owned a Silky Gomboy and Silky Pocketboy for years and have been super happy with them. I bit the bullet and paid the premium for this Silky Zubat and am very pleased with the outcome. The pole is light weight, the adjustment mechanism is secure and the blade cuts through the pods like butter compared to my old saw. The blade still flexes appropriately but not the flimsy flexing of my previous blade. I have no complaints and highly recommend this pole saw.

Fantastic Trimmer
I've never done this - written a review 10 minutes after using the product - but this pole saw is AMAZING! I have a 25' Canary Date Palm and haven't been able to cut off the dead fronds without getting out a ladder and hacking at the arms. Along comes Silky - and I just trimmed 8 dead arms in 8 minutes. While the saw blade itself isn't very stiff, the teeth made butter out of these hard fronds. It cut through them with no problems at all. Need a good telescoping trimmer - here's the one! Thanks to everyone else who wrote reviews.

Amazing! If recommend it to anyone I know.
I never expected it to go through thick trunks as quick as it does. My father had a chance to borrow it and couldn't believe how much better it was too the one he has from Home Depot or Lowe's (I can't remember which one).

Great saw
I have a larger Silky poll saw for those high branches but this one is for lower work. It is very light weight which is important on a long day of pruning. Like all Silkys the blade is exceedingly sharp and makes clean cuts. The blade assembly has nobs on the two bolts that hold it on the pole so it can be taken apart for storage or easy transport. The blade is narrow enough to allow you to see where you are cutting. A friend had one and I was able to try it, came home and bought one about tow months ago. Silkys are durable and dependable this saw is great.

the description on Amazon is inaccurate
this is a great saw BUT the effective range is only about 12 ft. the description states 16 feet in one place and 21 feet in another

Front runner in a pole saw!
GREAT , GREAT tree saw. Far superior to that red one sold at other stores. This saw is light as can be with a razor sharp cutting edge. I getmy pruning done in half the usual time. My previous silky saw I had for 10 years before I absolutely had to replace it. Glad to see Amazon carryingthem. Bought an additional blade so I may get 20 years out of it.

Cuts like butter. Top in class.
You will fall in love with this product. It is lightweight, handles smoothly, and cuts through thick branches like butter. The only problem is replacement blades are expensive and may have to be ordered from Japan which can take a month or so to arrive.I would order a couple extra blades with your pole saw order, which will seem like a lot of money. But believe me, it's worth the money, and you will have family and friends wanting to borrow this thing!

Devastante

I'm happy
Love the quality of this product. This model, being discontinued, was a savings as well.
