Good to have a backup
I recently purchased the Edifier RT1700BT bookshelf speakers for my New Turntable, Great speakers by the way, But the first thing I said when I looked at it is what happened if I lose this remote, I'm glad I did some research and come to find out that, that's an issue with these speakers, If they go into standby mode it may be a little tricky getting them to turn on without the remote, luckily I saw this remote so saw this on Amazon. Bought it. Little tricky at 1st getting it to pair At first but got everything to work. Now I have a emergency remote just in case this little bitty sucker get lost or stops working

Great Basic Apple TV remote with extra functionality
I am very pleasantly surprised by the quality and function of this remote.(In a hurry? skip down to the Pros and Cons)First, the feel of the buttons do not give you an impression this is a cheaply made piece of hardware at all. They have a nice consistently firm click to them, feels well made and designed. Also, the remote itself is a nice size and feels comfortable to hold in your hand.In my opinion though, the best feature of this remote is the ability to program (or "learn") the lower white buttons using the original remote that came with your TV. Why is this a nice feature you ask?... You can consolidate all the functionality you need into one single remote, in most cases. No need to keep two remotes on the table, one for the Apple TV and one for the TV itself. I know most newer TVs especially support HDMI-CEC which allows the Apple TV remote to control the power and volume of the TV through the HDMI connection, but your experience with this may vary depending on your TV's age and settings. This remote solves any of those issues by using simple IR (infrared) to communicate with both the Apple TV and TV itself.I know some of the reviews have mentioned issues with getting the remote to learn buttons from your TV's original remote. I found this feature to work perfectly, but the instructions on the back of the remote may be a bit confusing. I'll outline it quickly for anyone having an issue...1. Have this new Chunghop remote and your TV's original remote sitting on a flat surface with their ends pointing at each other about 1 inch apart.2. On the Chunghop, press and hold the "Set" button. A red light towards the top end of the remote will illuminate and then become brighter after several seconds. At this point release the "Set" button; the remote is now in programming mode. (Note - the remote will exit programming mode on it's own after no buttons are pressed for 10 seconds (the red light goes out), then you must start over)3. On the Chunghop, press and release the button you wish to program; the red light will start flashing. Within 15 seconds, on your TV's remote, press and hold the button you wish the Chunghop to learn and the red light will briefly go out, then begin flashing rapidly and finally remain solid. Release the button on your TV's remote only once the light has gone back to solid red, that button has now been programmed.3. At this point you can keep repeating step 3 with additional buttons you wish to program, keeping in mind the remote will always exit programming mode after 10 seconds of nothing being pressed and the red light goes out. If that happens just start over. Also, note that only the white buttons can be programmed (of course with the exception of "Set").4. When done programming just wait 10 seconds for the red light to go out and the remote is then ready to use.I have got this remote to learn buttons from several different brands of TV in my house and had no issues at all with it working, following the steps above. Also, you can program the A B C buttons to function as literally any button on your TV's original remote, so you can get creative with mapping any frequently used button over to the Chunghop for additional convenience.Pros...-Remote is a nice size in your hand and buttons have a good tactile feel.-The ability to "learn" buttons from any separate remote allows you to consolidate additional function beyond just power and volume into one single remote (instructions above).-Uses common AAA batteries, so no fumbling with coin cells.-Seems to have a decent range, easily functioning from across the room.-The basic Apple TV controls (the black buttons) are pre-programmed working right out of the box.Cons...-Does require you to have your TV's original remote in order to program the white buttons.-As this is an IR remote it is line of sight, so having your Apple TV mounted behind your TV may be an issue. However, I actually DO have my Apple TV mounted behind the TV and it seems to work fine, but I would keep this in mind.-This remote has the barebones buttons necessary to control an Apple TV. There is no Siri functionality since it is IR and has no Bluetooth connection. Also is lacking the TV/Home button, but going straight to the Home Screen can be accomplished by long pressing the "Menu" button.edit 1/31/2025 - I still agree with everything above, but I've taken a star away after now programming a couple more of them. I found the programming process to be a little finicky even if you follow my instructions exactly.First, when you place the two remotes on the table end to end in preparation for programing, you must ensure the IR emitters of both remotes are perfectly aligned. It is very sensitive to this, so use something flat to shim up the remotes until the IR emitters are aligned, otherwise programming will fail.Second, even if everything is aligned perfectly and instructions followed exactly, sometimes the programming still fails. I did find I could always get it to work successfully on a second or third try, though.I have reduced the rating because I feel like these remotes might take a bit more fiddling around with than a lot of people are willing to do before giving up and just saying it won't work. But, if you do work through any programming hiccups then everything positive I originally said still applies.

Works exactly as described.
I bought this specifically for the issues with the RC10G remote that comes with the Edifier R1700BT desktop speakers. Long story short, only the RC10G remote has a button to put the speakers into (and take out of) "Standby". The RC10G's build quality is... terrible. To avoid putting my R1700BT's into standby, and then having the remote break and them be stuck in standby, I got this CHUNGHOP Learning remote and trained its IR codes into the much more robust remote. Now I don't have to worry about the garbage remote Edifier decided to include with its wonderful desktop speakers!

Turns on & changes channels or streams. Won't adjust volume w/o training to old remote (WHAT ?!?)
Just what I said above answers both.

Updated Remote+White+Power button
Impressed… Instructions on the rear of remote to sync to original remote. For only one remote control to learn, HOWEVER, the old Apple TV/silver remote control has a few button to learn from, in addition, I was able to learn/sync from the Television remote also to use the power button, volume, input, & mute, moreover, there are A, B, C button to use and learn for additional options like menu, and so on.

Never programmed as claimed
Instructions are complicated, and device does not capture codes as it should. We eventually gave up and bought an OEM device.

Works great easy set up
Easy to program. Nice size so not as easy to lose as original apple remotes. Wish the buttons were configured the same way as the original but not a deal breaker

Works well for you basic Apple TV needs and it has remote learning.
This remote has all your basic buttons to navigate through your Apple TV. It does not have any voice control. But it does have remote learning. So if you have an Apple TV connected to a regular TV with no smart capabilities, you can have this remote configure buttons to control your original TV. Overall a great product for the price.
