Money Saver!
This product has saved my family so much money on my Standard Poodle's food! For about 10 months after reaching adulthood, we tried phasing our dog, Noodle, into different foods from a variety of brands in the 3 forms of food (just dry, just wet, and combined wet and dry), all with the same result: persistent diarrhea or chronically soft poop at irregular intervals. If you have had dogs before, you know that trying new foods can be both expensive and extremely time-consuming. The only thing that would work was the prescription diet from our vet. Our vet is not a fan of keeping dogs on prescription diets longer than they need to be, especially for otherwise young, healthy dogs, so we slowly eased her off of the prescription food onto one of the foods that the vet said was the most nutritional of the ones we had tried. However, even with this she regressed to diarrhea or soft poop. Now, you may be saying to yourself: "your dog must have been eating something on her walks," or something of that nature. But, rest assured, Noodle has been rigorously trained by a professional, not to mention having type-A humans walking her! Then, we found Vital Planet (originally on Thrive Market actually!) and we have not had to buy another ounce of prescription food again! Life-changing stuff really! She is able to have bowel-movements at consistent intervals that are no longer smelly or soft but appropriately poop-smelling and well-formed! Essentially, it's the Goldilocks of dog poop! She hasn't had any sort of constipation even from it, which was of course a concern with any stool hardener. I cannot stress enough how amazing this stuff is! Poodles are notorious for their sensitive stomachs, but Noodle's was particularly tough to deal with (though you would not have known from seeing her since she took the whole thing in stride). Any other Poodle-parents out there NEED this powder in their lives! It will save you so much worry/concern, not to mention money on prescription diets. Two big paws up from Noodle the Poodle and co!

not much effect on the dog; inconsistent labeling--very expensive for ground pumpkin seeds!
I bought this because it seemed to be advertised as a *pumpkin* supplement. The ad and the package say this more than once. However, the ingredients list only mentions pumpkin *SEED*. Indeed, the color of the product suggests that it does not contain pumpkin fruit (which would be orange), but rather pumpkin seeds (which is grayish).I don't know why it would consist primarily of pumpkin SEED. Nowhere have I ever heard that pumpkin SEED has a solidifying effect on stool. So that's probably why this product didn't seem to have any effect for my dog.If you are looking for a product that is the same as a can of pureed pumpkin with the water removed, this isn't it. Some reviewers here say it works, though, so if you're desperate maybe you could try it. Or you could just grind some pumpkin seeds in the coffee grinder and open a probiotic capsule to get a similar effect or lack thereof.

Possible constipation issue.
I’m on the fence about this product. I think you have to be careful with it. I gave my large dog the recommended full scoop and she started retaining her stool. I went down to a half a scoop and added additional pumpkin from a can and she was balanced out again. I got this to help prevent anal gland compaction. (MOST dog’s anal glands self-clean when they defecate—this is not true for all dogs). She developed the issue when I switched her kibble. This product made her a little constipated, and did not fix the gland issue. SO, im going back to her old brand of kibble, and will stick to adding my own fiber to her diet: blueberries, pumpkin, beans, sweet potato, etc.

Firm stool as advertised
Works great for adding bulk to my dog's stool, just stir it in with soft/moist kibble topper and he gobbles it down. Canned pumpkin he didn't like as much and even though you can freeze unused portion this powder is a lot more efficient. Highly recommend for any dog with diarrhea/chronic loose poop.

No help at all
I reviewed this product once and said I would give it more time. Still no improvement. I've stuck with the dosage the manufacturer recommends and gotten no good results.I find it hard to believe the dose would be the same for a toy or large breed, but I won't risk increasing it for my 100lb girl.
