The colours are nothing like the ones on the tub so not easy to read

We have a hot-tub that is used by our holiday accommodation guests so keeping an accurate record of the chemical levels is vitally important. We have generally used Blue Horizons testing strips however for some reason they were unavailable so I bought some of these instead. Big mistake. According to these strips I went from having a perfectly balanced tub, (which had been that way for weeks), to having a zero reading for both Alkalinity and PH levels. After a couple of days to confirm these readings I added both PH improver and Alkalinity increaser however the test strips still registered zero or produced colours that weren't even on the decoder!. Meanwhile the colouring of the Chlorine was 'slight variants of turquoise' making it almost impossible; to sensibly judge how much it was actually reading. I had to persist with these strips for a week before I could get the Blue Horizons ones delivered during which time according to these my tub was a disaster zone. As soon as the Blue Horizon arrived I tested one only to find the chlorine was fine and both alkalinity and PH were - surprise surprise, now on the high side. Totally unfit for purpose and to be avoided at all costs. Lesson learnt.

The test strips give wrong reading, very far out from the proper reading, utterly useless.

These are useless. You get a reasonable reading for free chlorine, but absolutely nothing meaningful for pH or Alkalinity. I've subsequently tried them again in the same pool and got wildly different readings. I'm throwing them in the bin and going back to my previous ones.

this product in no way actually represents the true Chlorine or PH when compared to a proper water test kit which i have, i would say it borders dangerous as they severely under reads, the colours dont even bear any resemblance to those on the container. you will end up putting more chemicals in than you actually need so beware.

I thought these were working fine. Yet added more additives to the hit tub as the reading was low, and again and again.Decided to try a different brand which arrived today. Totally the opposite and shows I have overdone it.Terrible really.
