Permatex25005 High Strength Removable Threadlocker Orange Gel, 5 g

I haven't tried removing any of the Fasteners I've used this on, but I do like working with the gel formula a whole lot better. No mess at all, it basically like the squeezable chapstick and the little cup area of the tip works great for applying it.

Works like advertised

Permatex has so many different sealants one must be careful when choosing. This sealant helps secure but still allows removal of the nut or bolt with a little extra torque applied to the wrench

If it holds the bolts and nuts in place on my tuned harley then it holds up through just about anything.

We had a problem with the air compressor hose leaking slowly around the connector and losing pressure. I wasn't sure if the cable was damaged or not so we liberally applied this gel around the threads and used a wrench to fully tighten it down. I waited the recommended 24 hours for this to fully cure, and then was pleased to see the air compressor fully holding the 120 PSI tank without leaking at all. This stuff is great and we will be using it again to lock threads down tight and prevent them from leaking or coming apart.

I've been using this orange for a few months and I find that every one I get a the local autozone or advanced (regular size bottle) will break ath the threaded neck . This bottle is more on a flexible pvc type and works great but got to get the larger one in gel form.

I was using this to attach an optic to a handgun and at first I didn't know if it was going to do much because it was as about as thick as water. I used it anyway and and used the gun a few days later and everything held in place great. Unfortunately, but to no fault of the permatex, I had to remove the optic. When removing the screws I could immediately tell that this stuff had a grip and had done exactly what I was wanting it to. Just like the description says it definitely hold tighter then blue but still not as permanent as red so you can still remove with hand tools. All I was using to remove them was a simple precision screwdriver set and although I definitely had to put more pressure to break them loose I was still able to do it with just the screwdriver handle and my hand with no other tools needed for adding leverage. Now, the only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because once the screws where out I looked at the threads and and they were very messy with dried permatex. Before I was able to reinstall them I had to use solvent and wire brush to completely clean the screws. But, when I put it back together I put the permatex right back on because I can clean a screw if I need to but when I want a screw or bolt to stay in place I want a product I can trust and I believe this is one ill be keeping around.

The brand name convinced me and the fact that it requires no heat to remove the item treated with the thread sealant. I have not used it yet but at least it will be ready when tequired.

This stuff is awesome and works great. But it’s 12.99 at Canadian Tire...so paying almost $30 for the same thing is stupid.
