A value priced motor accessory that makes my motor more useful and me happy.
This is not a Vine program item. I paid for this out-of-pocket.Pros: Everything you need is in the package. While this is not a high-precision item, It functioned perfectly. It installed easily on the 1/2 inch shaft of my 1/4 hp motor. I tried it out with a 6 inch buffing wheel and a six inch wire wheel. It ran very smoothly. I really can't say that it was completely without vibration, but I saw no effect on the wheel operation or on the motor.Cons: None as to the actual use of the adapter. BUT, as noted by an other reviewer, the threaded shaft and nut are propriety to the manufacturer and not any standard thread size. This means that you can't buy or thread another nut if you lose or damage it. Another drawback is that you get only one nut, which means you have no available replacement and you can't adjust the position of the wheel further out on the threaded shaft away from the motor body so as to have more working room. Conclusion: The is a bargain price for a very versatile decently made arbor adapter. I liked it so much that I ordered a second one and had the same results as with the first. I did not have any of the quality control issues mentioned by other reviewers. I'm getting a whole new use out of my motor. It's worth the buy.TO THE MANUFACTURER: Please improve this item by using a common standard thread size, Metric, SAE, or other. Please also include another nut in the package. Or, at least provide a way to obtain replacement parts, specifically the nut for the threaded shaft and the set screws to secure the attachment to the motor shaft. Make this into the 100% well-designed product it should be.FOLLOW-UP: After a year of use, I found that the limitation on this adapter is about six inches and the wheel should be light, i.e. wire wheel or buffer. An eight inch wire wheel caused too much vibration (probably as much because it isn't perfectly balanced) and I would not attempt a heavy grinding wheel. Otherwise, the six inch wire wheel, buffers, and smaller abrasive wheels still works perfectly.

mIssing parts----
You should not use this to "extend" your buffing machine. ONLY use this on your machine's original motor axle. I tried to attach it to the already present 1/2" attachment to the motor axle and it stripped all the threads on that. Had to order a replacement. My only use now would be if I switch to 5/8" buff size, but I cannot find sisal buffs in 5/8" size that are of good quality, usually they are too rough and leave streaks on the soft metal I am trying to polish out, so won't be using this anyway. The only good sisal buffs I've found are on Caswell's site but they are half inch holes.

Works Great - Couldn't be Happier
I purchased two of these shaft arbor extensions to be used on an old CRAFTSMAN dual arbor electric motor I just got. Both extension arbors fit and worked very well on this motor. This motor has 5/8” shafts and there is no wobble or anything like that. They tightened down very well and didn’t come loose during use.On the Craftsman motor that I specifically purchased these for, I am using an 8”x1” thick nylon fiber wheel on one side and an 8” DeWalt wire wheel on the other side and I couldn’t be happier. Absolutely no problems whatsoever. Works great! When this thing is running, it throws so much wind, you would think you are standing in front of a fan.I think these are very good quality and very reasonable priced.

Cure for lost superfine left handed NUT
Go find an antique left handed thread size nut! Unicorns are easier to catch!Anyway this mandrel fots snugly over the threaded shaft and set screw tightens well.Working distance between attached wheel and support bearing is a bit longer so introduces some wobble but not enough to impact soft buffing wheel. A hard fine grinding wheel may vibrate too much.

Proprietary Nut
The nut provided or threaded shaft is non-standard. They are not any standard size, ansi or metric that I could find. As long as you do not need a replacement nut you should be fine. The unit fits on a 1/2in. shaft with some wobble in rotation but tolerable.

Outstanding customer service
This arbor fits a motor shaft well and runs true. Mine came missing one of the set screws but I didn’t want the hassle of returning the item. Otherwise, would have rated higherUpdate: After posting the above review, the seller reached out to me and offered a full refund based on the missing part. This was completely unexpected and represented above and beyond quality service. More than compensates for the missing part.
