I LOVE this. I'd purchased Stanley's Stay Hot French Press for my van and that's been great, BUT it requires that I either purchase coarse ground coffee or that I buy coffee beans and grind them. If I'm out in nowhere, which is the goal, these things can be tricky to find. I found this wonderful drip coffee maker and it's a total game changer. I still buy the good coffee when I can find it, but ultimately, ANY coffee will do here--even regular coffee from the big box store. It's also easy to clean (tho some of this is I'm using filters which I plan to buy a reusable filter shortly). I still love my french press, but this is my daily go-to.

My new favorite way to make coffee. French press is great but this is basically best of both worlds between filtered and immersion brew. Easy to clean and sturdy. Did have the valve piece break off at the stem when I dropped it and it landed just right, but you can buy that part without buying the whole thing.

Simple to use, low tech, produces good coffee in just a few minutes.

Great dripper

It makes very good immersion brew coffee, with a cleaner cup than a french press, and substantially easier to clean up after than a french press.I removed a star because of some design flaws. (1) the four plastic feet that it sits on are quite thin, and on my unit one of them broke off after I'd had it a few months. It won't work without something else doing the job of that missing foot, so this means I have to balance that side very carefully on some other object on the counter, which is a nuisance (though not quite worth the expense of replacing it with a new one). Also, almost always the drain mechanism works flawlessly, but every so often, it doesn't seat correctly, and you pour your hot water in just to have it run out all over the counter. I therefore recommend adding water first and then coffee grounds, opposite to the order suggested by the manufacturer, both for faster brew and drainage (as noted by James Hoffman), but also in case of accidental leaking through the gasket. This way, hot water leaks out, but you don't lose brewing coffee.

Love this coffee maker and the variety of colors it’s now available in. I only need enough for 1 person, it’s perfect and the coffee is delicious!

I would highly recommend this for the person who wants an easy way to make coffee that has a great taste. It's brewing method and easy dispense make it great for travel. Our green one has a slight bit of staining on the bottom but functions the same as when we bought it.
