IRONING TOWELS
My X-wife used to dislike just about anything that I did. One thing that she hated was that I ironed my T-shirts (and underpants) and BATH TOWELS with our SINGER Press. We bought it years ago at SAM'S. If you iron your sheets, they will "sleep better" and stay fresh longer. A fitted sheet slides over the edge of the table. I do not own an iron. Now that I am retired, I iron my dress slacks with it. I would iron my dress shirts too if I still wore them. Ironing while the clothes are still damp is highly recommended. The bad part is that the switch has gone bad. I have called everywhere around Columbus, Ohio and inquired on the internet. There is NO ONE left locally who repairs small appliances. Now I have to keep my thumb on the switch to keep it on. Please let me know if you know of a new switch somewhere.

Singer CSP! Magic Steam Press
The unit arrived on time and works as described. I bought it to press 100% cotton shirts for work. Despite several months of practice and following the instructions it still took me several hours to get seven shirts wrinkle free with smooth stand up collars, and nice creases in the sleeves. The unit is not big enough to do an entire shirt in one press, but takes at least seven repositionings to get one whole shirt done. The accessories provided were adequate. I would suggest adding a flat stick like an unused wooden paint stirrer to hold things in place as you close the press, withdrawing it at the last moment. Make sure you have a sturdy worksurface on which to work.

Huge Time Saver
I bought mine in Feb. 2003 for $220. It recently stopped working in the middle of a lot of ironing. I took it to a repair shop and was told that the problem is the circuit board. I searched the internet for something similar. In the end I decided to pay the $120 to have it repaired as there is nothing like it currently available. I love the burst of steam, the swivel of the stand and the size (large work surface). Mine always heated quickly. I also understand that they are in high demand because of the unique features. If you have one, take good care of it and consider having it repaired, if necessary. Also, beware of some that you might find advertised on the internet. They are probably 220 volt (Europe and UK). I hope they are once again made for the US market. I'd love to buy one for my daughter.

Singer CSP-1 Steam Press
I am a weaver and sewer and have put off for years buying a steam press. I am glad I did, because this one does what the others did not -- it rotates 90 degrees so that you can steam press lengths of yardage, table clothes, etc. It makes a lot of steam, or none, with graduations in-between. It is easy and safe to operate.
