Sucks Up The Light
I had a problem with reflected, intense light inside my welding helmet; my eyes would feel the strain after only a few minutes. Used #5 dark lenses in my safety glasses, but this, combined with the #12 lense in my helmet, I almost could not see the arc. I found several reviews on photography sites recommending this velvet. I bought a yard and cut and glued the pieces into my welding helmet. Wow! It works great! It truly absorbs light. I am able to weld as long as I want to with no feeling at all of eye strain. Good product.

The darkest material made by mankind
Not counting that little postage stamp sized piece of nanotube whatever, this is by far the darkest material available anywhere for any purpose. For projection screens, it's the best border material available.
