new vanity fair front close bra
UPDATE BELOW 6/26/2018....If you HAVE been using the Vanity Fair front closing - 75339, BUT you have been WISHING for more coverage - THIS version is slightly better. I've been wearing the other version for many, many years. I keep asking for and WISHING for a 38DDD - but to no avail so I buy the 38DD. Why? Because I find it comfortable and NOT over padded. I like a thin lining for comfort, but don't desire additional "size" with the filling. This version gives you ALMOST 1 more inch in the cup at the small size... at least on the 38DD. If you wore the 38DD in the "lighter" version, I would recommend buying the same size of this "fuller" version. I still really need a 38DDD, but I can definitely make this work. This version IS convertible to a racer back, just like the older version - although I rarely use that option, it's nice to have. Other improvements include - slightly wider - different material straps. FAR less "cutting" into the top of your shoulder - further - the back strap is slightly wider.. The front closure is still plastic - but I have yet to have one "fail." The down side of front closure bra is that as you wear it, as with ALL bras, the elastic "gives" and with the front closure, there are no adjustments. Still I get a fair amount of wear out each one - more than a year. For the price, I think this good. Camel Camel these so that you can grab them when they are an even better price - which has always beat what they are offered to me locally. There is a thin fiber fill - but it doesn't add bulk - just modesty. And the cup is smooth - there is some strategically placed lace that doesn't create lumps and bumps on the bra - a pretty touch. The other think I notice is that this newer version "feels" more supportive. I think there is a visible lift - meaning more support. The straps are adjustable, and as I said above, much more comfortable that the older, smaller version. Bras are SUPER personal and every one of us is different, but I was hoping to share enough details and comparisons to be helpful. I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seems useful. Honestly, I think this bra is worthy of shot if you liked the older version but were wishing for a bit more cup.UPDATE 6/26/2018..... I just wanted to say that I ordered the 40DD. As I have mentioned above, I'd prefer a 38DDD or even an E... but that isn't offered in this style... so I decided to "try" the 40DD. I had feared it would be too big around, but it is actually fine... SLIGHTLY larger, but not significantly around... the "UP" part is that you get at LEAST 1/2" more in cup coverage. To me, that's worth while. Every woman is built uniquely and bras are SO hard, especially mail order. If you prefer a front loader... are full size.. and prefer an underwire for support, these are worth a try. I recommend possibly trying one size around "up" if you'd like a bit more cup.I have had no issues with poor performance in wear or otherwise, however, I DO wash in a lingerie bags, on delicate and hang them to dry in my dryer "closet." Hope this helps you in some way!

My wife loves this Bra. The only problem we ...
My wife loves this Bra. The only problem we have found with it is the front closure device. It wants to turn about 90 degrees to the side causing the material in it's slots to bunch up at one end of the slot, one side at the bottom of it's slot the other side at the top of it's slot. Since the bra is not visible and I am more or less the seamstress(er) of the family I will be replacing the small device with the standard bra hooks normally found on back fastening bras. We will also be buying additional ones and making the same mod.

Dressing with pliers!
The bra fits nicely, is made well, and I want to take a hammer to it!! The clasp. I read about the odd twist to the bra due to the clasp but thought I could deal with it, if the bra fit and didn't fall off my narrow shoulders. The first time I put it on, it felt good so I cut off the tags. Then, I bent to brush my teeth and it came unclasped. Apparently, I hadn't gotten both ends of the pin that holds it together, seated correctly. So, I tried again. I could NOT get the top end of the pin to pop into the slot. By now, my arthritic hands are hurting as I'm trying to keep the "girls" in the cups and keep the front held together with one hand and press the pin against the slot with the other. Now, I've gone for my reading glassing because I can't see the slot well. I think I've gotten it so I settle down and sit to tie my shoes... pop, goes my bra. I'm so glad I'm home when this happens! So, by now I'm fuming so I take off the damned thing and try doing it while it's off. Nope, can't do it; the slot is too tight without force. I went for the pliers. That finally worked. A woman should not need pliers to get dressed! I've had corsets that were easier to truss up! If I didn't like the fit and if it weren't so difficult to find my size (44C), I would send this back via flaming arrow. But, I'm going to do what another (male) reviewer suggested: install a new clasp.

Front Closure for larger bust sizes
I have been looking in my regular stores for a bra like this in black, without success, so I've been watching this online for a good price. I lYou cove Vanity Fair bras and as a busty woman, a lot of brands don't have front closure hooks in the larger sizes. I have several of this style and love them, but the black never stays in stock. So I finally figured the way to get one, would be to order online. The one I rec'd turned out to not be exactly the same style as I was hoping for, but it is close enough so I am happy and keeping it. This one has a little more lace on each side of the front closure. So it is not a difference that affects the fit of this bra. You can also turn this bra into cross back -- I don't usually do that but I have with one or two, I find that over time, the straps have gotten a little stretched out and that is the perfect time to use the criss cross function for the straps, great for summer tops and dresses. I have had a lot of these over a lot of years, and I have only had the wire break in one of these and it could have been washing machine related, so if you're worried about that -- it would not be a concern for Vanity Fair or this style.

Just don't...
I was so disappointed. As in earlier comments, the cups in this bra are just oddly shaped - pointy cone shaped. This is really disappointing as it seemed like in all other aspects to be a really comfortable bra. I guess if you have torpedo shaped boobs it would fit. Unfortunately, I do not. I always wear a 44D. It was HUGE. I exchanged it for a 44C - having doubts it would fit as I haven't worn a C cup in a very long time. The new bra arrived and it too was HUGE. I had enough room for a pair of socks in there. Also, the front closure seems to have some sort of design defect. the cloth attaching the bra to the closure is too narrow causing the closure to slide sideways - like a twisted 90 angle. I would assume this would create wear on the bra and it would eventually rip or wear through.
