Disappointing
The scanner itself is excellent, 5 stars. But the slide adapter produces fuzzy images which all need a great deal of color correcting. I am a professional artist/graphic designer and would NOT recommend this transparency adapter to anyone. It is extremely overpriced at $450-500 for the really terrible quality results it generates.

This is a fantastic value for scanning film and slides.
Another reviewer said this produces fuzzy images from film. That has not been my experience at all. Whats more is that you can load up to 30 slides at a time or up to 48 35mm negatives at a time. (You can also load a small assortment of other film and scan other transparencies with it too.)Obviously the 10000xl only has a max optical dpi of 2400 so you get approx 7 megapixal images from slides and negatives. Mine have been gorgeous. I scanned my own, my dad's and somebody else's negatives and slides and all have been awesome. I don't know if I would use this scanner for my professional films because I would want more resolution. For pro films I would go with an Epson Perfection V700, v750, v800 or v850 which will produce up to 6400 dpi images and can also support wet mounting.Over all this transparency adapter for my 10000xl has been a real charm. All the images have been very clear and in focus. But, you cannot scan higher that 2400 dpi optical. My opinion is that you don't need more than 2400 for 35mm and slides unless they were taken on pro equipment and are pro films.I did not buy mine on Amazon. But I did already have the scanner and just added the transparency unit to the scanner.
