Soniclean Galaxy Upright Vacuum Cleaner/Handheld Combo

I like this so far however, I am waiting for upper hook to be mailed to me for upright unit. The company was quick to respond and mailed it out same day. The interior packaging felt awkward to handle and unpack-things taped to cord which led to something packed in styrofoam and some more tape tight around something else-small detail but fussy to deal with. Unit looks great and is lightweight, wonderful!Canister is effective. It does have a space to wrap cord around base which is a big reason why I ordered this unit over another brand. I like the combo solution. Small unit for jobs up high or stairs, etc. My note to all manufacturers is that for this consumer I'm looking for effective cleaning of pet and human hair, & dust, and want a unit that does not clog up every other time I use it (like the bagless varieties seem to) and stores away easily. Tool bag is ridiculous-long, narrow tube-like black bag with some handles but you can't see what's in there.Small canister could be hung on wall, I'm working on that. Right now, it's sitting on shelf but hose is attached so it's a little messy and floppy. The hose is still attached because I clicked it into place by taking off silver cap and twisting it tightly against notch on hose joint-some other customers were frustrated that hose kept falling off. I experienced this as well until I examined sliding slot joint and saw the vee-shaped protrusion that is the only thing that keeps hose on. It works but I think after a few snaps on and off it would wear down and not hold up.To sum up: Want good suction (check), easy wrap-up (check), easy storage (could use some tweaks here), and easy access-reach in with one arm and not have floppy things falling in my face or have to rummage through weird tool bag. No one has made the perfect vacuum yet but I have high hopes for this one. Again I note the company was quick to respond to my concerns and I am very appreciative of that. Purchased this set for my adult son with autism to make vacuuming less complicated. We like the idea of having two separate units for him to use. For large areas the upright is light and easy to maneuver with NO complicated hoses & attachments or swivel head ability which is perfect for him. It has excellent suction with 2 settings, one for hard floors, the other for carpets which is part of the sliding power switch, so there is only one switch to use. The HEPA filter bags are of good quality and look to be easy to change, although my son may need help. There is also a bag fill indicator light. As for the hand held we had to find the best way for our son to use it. The coiled hose is short so dragging it on the floor like a typical canister will not work but there are 2 attachment hoses so my son will carry this light vacuum slug over his shoulder with the included shoulder strap, attach both hoses along with the floor attachment and vacuum his bathroom & bedroom hard floors w/o a problem. It also has great suction, more than I anticipated. Prior he used a rechargeable handheld dust buster to vacuum up debris on his hard floors and his throw rugs but he would forget to charge it, the dirt cup filled up too quickly and the small filter would get clogged and lose suction. With this Soniclean hand held we don't have to worry about any of that. The HEPA filter bags for the hand held are also a good quality bag. No bag fill indicator light on hand held though. This hand held is also good for vacuuming stairs which he could not do at all before with either a canister or upright vac with attachments. Over all I am very pleased with this product, my only request is I wish they made the coiled hose longer.

Overall I am disappointed with the product. I wish I would've stuck with a canister model like my previous Ricarr, it was a little heavier but was able to satisfy cleaning multiple flooring surfaces. This vacuum works as well as it's much cheaper competitors. You could easily purchase a cheaper upright and get the same results.The Upright -Pros - Works well on carpets - Light to carry to other floors of your house - Long cord so you do not have to keep unplugging and plugging inCons - Terrible on hard floors - spits debris out at you due to brush spinning even when on hard floor setting. I had finally broke down and bought a Bissel hard floor expert to use on my hard floors and now they finally feel clean. - Extremely loud compared to other vacuums and it is even worse when doing your hard floorsThe Canister - I love the thought of having a canister to vacuum the stairs and car. Unfortunately this canister does not have a ton of suction so vacuuming out the car takes for ever - especially if you have pet hair. The connector swivels and it is just down right annoying.

This looks well made and does a good job of actually edge cleaning both sides. It picked up everything I could see in its way. It is a little hard to maneuver around small tables and chairs. Although it is lightweight after using it I did have some muscle fatigue which was a surprise but that happened on each of 3 times I have used it. You dont feel like its heavy its not or hard to push or pull its just that it was really tiring in some way. I am guessing if is because of the ultrasonic vibrating pad on the bottom of the head that is supposed to shake up the dirt because I have not experienced that fatigue with any other vacuum. This must add vibrations your muscles can feel. I am surprised no one has mentioned this. Other people do not seem bothered by this and think it cleans well. I have found you can turn off the ultrasonic vibrations by putting the power switch in the mid position and It still does an excellent job of cleaning so you have a choice. The hand held is light and powerful be careful the extension wand is packed on the bottom of the box under cardboard and I almost tossed it out. I never thought vacuums could be so complicated. You really need to try them and on your own carpets. This is a well made unit that cleans well. This is a good deal. The ultrasonic vibrations capability makes this different than anything else and you can use it or not. It is durable.
