Igenix IG9900 Portable Air Conditioning Unit, 9000 BTU, 1000 W – White

I'm fairly pleased with this unit. It blasts out cold air like nobody's business, and cools a reasonable sized room down even when it's roasting outside.Bad points? It comes with an exhaust duct which is only about 1.5 m long, so you are very limited on positioning it, and you can't really vent it to a high-up fanlight window... Kits are available to extend the ducting, but it seems a bit of a kick in the teeth to have to spend £30-ish on one of these on top of £350 for the original unit. In an ideal world you'd vent it through a hole drilled in an exterior wall, but if you're going to go to all the trouble of doing that, you'd probably be better off getting a proper wall-mounted unit.The other issue I had was that Amazon's delivery sub-contractor, DPD, was hopelessly incompetent and I was messed around for a couple of days with them failing to deliver it, and then delivering to the wrong address etc. What a shower of idiots. If we hadn't been in the middle of a heatwave, I would have just requested a refund. The fact that Amazon uses DPD is a major disincentive for me to shop here to be honest.But overall the unit is OK. Perhaps not the greatest value for money, but it definitely does the job.

It's big but it works. Just the thing for very hot days. Although you can't miss it sitting in the corner of the room for the rest of the year. If you don't mind it sitting in the corner of the room for most of the year then thoroughly recommended for those sweltering summer days when it's hard to breath and too hot to go out. Might even be a life-saver for the old and grey.

I have only ever used hotel air con that's fitted when on holiday at hotels. Portable units are a lot noisier than expected and a bit of an extravagance with the U.K. Weather. After one of my three year old boys up all night being sick due to the heat on the hottest day of the year I decided to get this. Its amazing what you will spend when sleep deprived to get a good nights sleep. It's too loud to leave on when the kids are trying to get to sleep but putting on before they went to bed brought the room temp down a couple of degrees. I will only use a few days a year but hopefully it's going to last.

This has been the best purchase of 2016. It cools down all the upstairs and does it quickly.If you do put the hose out the window make sure to get a hot air stripper for the window. Comfee Hot Air Stop 10000356 is what I went for. This makes sure no heat from the hose or outside slows down the cooling efficiency of the unit.You can set to go down to 16 degrees, and when it gets to your set temp it automatically switches to fan mode.I first put this in a room with a wood floor, the unit can be quite loud, but since moving it to a room with carpet it is much better.

The air conditioning unit brings the room temperature down very quickly. The fan is a bit noisy on the highest setting it is worth the amount of noise for the reduction in temperature. The unit is sturdy but still easy to move . There are a number of combinations of time ,temperature and fan speeds that you can use . The remote works well . The hose that comes with the unit is good but as my windows are high I needed to buy a longer hose .

I bought this for the cooling but an unexpected side-effect is that my asthma has improved markedly. This replaced a desk fan that ran 24/7 which probably just blew tons of dust at me. Keep in mind this machine is utterly massive, heavy and is incredibly loud. That said I am very very happy with my purchase.

Was delivered quickly and well packaged.Easy to set up the vent hose and get operational.Has two main functions, fan with no cooling which is fairly quiet.Air con which cools room in about half an hour and is a bit noisier.Would recommend this product.

This is the second air conditioner I have brought I'm happy with it but the hose could do with being longer didn't go up to my window luckily a friend had one he no longer used that fitted it
