Happy silica valley!
Do I need to say it...? In Britain, we live in a damp and inclement climate - and high humidity poses a constant threat to the whole gamut of our personal belongings and kit. If we want to protect these things from damage, we need to ensure that they are kept safe from the harmful effects of airborne moisture - and that's where these handy packets of silica gel come into their own. If I'm being completely honest, the 25g weight/size of sachet is occasionally on the large side for domestic use; but they are reusable (you just need to dry them thoroughly first), and you can't really argue with the price being offered here for a pack of ten. Most importantly, they do the job required of them - absorbing up to a third of their weight in moisture.Recommended!

Great stuff, great price. Recommend.
I used these to remove the "moisture" from a set of headphone. I've had them a long time and having them on your head for long periods of a day for so long started to show in the form of "wet" patched appearing on a piece of paper when the headphones were left on it for a few minutes. Kind of gross really.Anyway I bought these to suck the moisture out and they worked perfectly. Such things are best used in a sealed container. That is because the air has moisture in it, especially in-doors. Which means if you leave them in the open the packets will suck moisture out of the air and they don't do their job as well.So for best effect place them inside a plastic bag with a tight knot or a box like a packed lunch box or similar, something with an air tight seal on it. That way the packets suck the moisture out of the bag or container and that allows the moisture in the item you are trying to keep dry to escape which can also be absorbed. Leave it for several hours to a day and it will be nice and dry.

Best bang for the buck.
Attempting to save microphones and other pieces of stored electrical equipment from our new and incredibly damp home, it became apparent that my existing collection of gel packs, saved from the bottoms of packaging boxes, girlfriends' handbags, new shoes and store-packaged chorizo wasn't going to cut it.This collection provides 10 sizable pouches. Threw a couple in each box. Problem solved. You can 'recharge' these things by leaving them on top of a radiator for a couple of hours, should be able to see the colour of the crystals change back to a more bluey hue from pinkish. Or is it the other way around?

Mould at bay
I collect and dry herbs from the garden for teas and cooking, and seeds for planting next year. However in an old farmhouse with a kitchen often used for cooking and steamy, sometimes herbs, even in jars, can go off if there was the slightest bit of damp in the jar. One of these sachets among the dry ingredients of herbs, flour, seeds, beans, washing powder etc in screw top jars is a great saving. The silicon bags can be taken out and re-dried on a radiator, in the airing cupboard or in an oven that is still very gently warm, so they can be used for years.Silicon gel comes in smaller bags, useful for small jars, and larger ones, useful for damp wardrobes, bathroom cupboards, etc. There are a myriad uses in workshops - tins of nails comes to mind.

Great value silica gel packs.
These silica gel packs are superb for including in my camera cases to ensure that mould does not get into my cameras + lenses. Very convenient size - 25mg. Enough crystals to do the job, but small enough to not take up much room. I use these when putting away cameras I do not use often. Great product at a good price.

Great large size
Great product arrived quicker than expected large packets about the size of a debit card not the tiny little packets. Very happy.

Bought this for my daugher's car boot as it had got a few mouldy bits in. She hasn't commented on whether it worked or not.
