AMAZING KNIFE / THE DO-IT-ALL BUSH KNIFE! I know folks are typically skeptical about anything being described as a jack-of-all-trades product because it usually means that the product is a master of none, but this knife is pretty much a master of all trades… I’m an avid outdoorsman — camping, hiking, sailing, fishing, etc — as well as an active duty Marine, plus a pretty solid cook. I have gone through a handful great knives over the years, but this one is just on another level. I bought my first one a while back and only had to buy this new one because I gifted the original to a close friend going on a deployment. It can do pretty much all the heavy lifting a small hatchet can do outdoors, then can also be as dexterous and detailed as a scalpel, and then as versatile in the kitchen as a great chef’s knife. It is definitely on the dense and/or robust side of the spectrum, but if having a couple extra ounces isn’t a big deal for you, this knife will check every box. I’ve cooked dozens of great meals outdoors with it, split at least 250 logs and branches, cleaned a few dozen fish, cut a million lines, opened 1000 boxes, taken it with me to the field on training exercises, kept it attached to the side of my assault pack on deployments, and about 100 other odd jobs around the house and outside… Even after all that, I’ve only really had to sharpen it just a few times. My first one never had so much as a minor chip after I beat the hell out of the thing. And don’t take my word for it, go on YouTube and look at the stress tests some guys have put it through. It literally took a guy an entire day of smashing it with a sledgehammer, whacking it and stabbing it into iron pipes and car hoods, dropping boulders onto it, and just a dozen other horrible things that you’d never do to a knife before the grip even came loose. It is a great shape, extremely well-built, priced fairly, durable as a block of iron, and is nothing less than excellent for anybody wanting a single knife solution for the outdoors. I now have one that I keep for routine use, and a back-up in my apocalypse bug-out bag. It’s definitely the best large fixed-blade knife I’ve ever bought, and I’ve had dozens over the years… A++++++!
