I love this lucid dreaming mask!
This is a great product! I had success the first night using it. I had been in the middle of a dry spell and hadn't had a lucid dream for months but this device, I'm happy to say, helped me break the spell. I had held off buying it because I thought I had heard it wasn't as good as the Nova dreamer I had years ago. I loved the Nova dreamer (not available anymore) and this product is fabulous too. I haven't found any downsides. It's comfortable to wear and I sleep on my side. You can adjust the settings to make it work best for you. I am very satisfied and wish I had bought it sooner.

it has made my dream recall worse in that I've been waiting for something to happen ...
After having ordered the product, it does not do the thing it has been marketed as doing - that is, if it is activated and I rapidly move my eyes to simulate REM movement, or even if I wave my hands quickly in front of the sensors while the room is dark, no red lights can be seen to be flashing. This is not to say that the sensor does not work or that the lights do not flash since it does it's own thing during the night whether I am dreaming or not. Furthermore, it has made my dream recall worse in that I've been waiting for something to happen (given that this product is meant to be a dreaming aid rather than something on my face) which hasn't. I only get woken up randomly by flashing lights or beeping if I have (dare I?) tried to enhance the settings to make it function out of hope. The only way I can envision this product working is if I am coincidentally having a dream at the moment the lights are flashing randomly, yet I have calculated the rate of this occurring as being once a week if I am lucky. I will keep trying to play those odds since I have spent so much money on this device.

It never worked out for me
There was nothing wrong with the unit but the system never worked out for me. Maybe it can work for other people.

You'll Be Much Better Off Investing in a Lucid Dreaming Meditation Course Instead of This Thing
I will start with the customer service of the seller Balkowitsch Enterprises. My first attempt was via e-mail in which I received a rather quick response from "Shane". I asked him several questions about the device before purchasing, but his only response was a one sentence "REM-Dreamer Pro is our newest model." Ok, maybe he is their only customer service rep, very busy, and didn't read my post completely. I gave him the benefit of the doubt even though my questions were very basic. After all, they have a great feedback rating. After more online research, I was able to find the answers myself. But later I had to call their 800 number a few days after using the device to ask for suggestions. I spoke with a woman with a flat, monotone and bored tonality which matched the lack of quality I received from the email. The main problem with the phone call was how this woman would begin to ask me questions, and then cut me off mid sentence to ask me something else. For some reason she didn't want my name until after I started expressing my concerns about the errors I was receiving from this device. She ended up just giving me the email address for the manufacturer in Poland. Seriously Balkowitsch, your customer service sucks! So, from there I wrote an email to Eli Company; the manufacturers of this device. The person who wrote back stated they had never heard of the problems I had described. I guess the multiple buyers with bad reviews had never contacted them about the same problem I had?Which brings me to my complaints about the REM-Dreamer Pro.I first read the instruction manual front to back a couple times. The first night I used it, I had set the timer for approximately 3 hours for the sensor to begin detecting eye movement, and left the preset to normal sleeper. I wore this thing just trying to get used to its awkward fit. About 17 minutes before it was set to start "detecting eye movement" I decided I had enough for one night, removed it, and turned it off. I decided the following evening that I wasn't going to use a delay timer because really, whats the point? A person who is awake while wearing it isn't going to make accidental random eye movement the same as a dreaming person right? So I discover that night that even though I consider myself a normal sleeper, that I no longer was one as long as I am wearing this contraption. When I finally was able to go to sleep, I was awoken at some point to bright flashing lights even though I wasn't dreaming at all. The next night I decided I would try light sleeper mode. After all, the distractions from this thing made me go from being a person who can go to sleep in 5 minutes and stay that way for over 8 hours straight, to an insomniac with an extremely broken up sleep pattern as soon as its strapped on. It was after this night that I started having suspicions. When I finally went to sleep again, I had a couple lengthy and vivid dreams, but no cues from the REM-Dreamer. When I awoke from my dreams, there was no flashing...until I turned to my side, then it flashed!I took a couple days off after that to regain some lost sleep and to try to customize the mask some more. Most recently after reducing the brightness and sensitivity even more, I am no longer being woken up by the signals, but they still do not flash during dreams. I have tried different combinations of experiments and I am certain like many other reviewers that this thing is random with its cues. One time I woke up with the mask up near my forehead because my peripheral vision caught it flashing my eyebrows! So the lesson I learned is to go about learning lucid dreaming the natural and reliable way. Its the journey, not the destination that matters. It doesn't matter if there is a device that is capable of aiding in this quest for enlightenment, because the process still requires patience, discipline and knowledge for training our brains to accomplish the task. So why add to that an uncomfortable mask pressed to your face? There are several instructors out there who offer online courses that can get people lucid dreaming in a few days to a few weeks. Most are rather affordable, but I did some research to decide which one was the best for me considering their various levels of experience and price tags. I was also lucky enough to recently discover a lucid dreaming practitioner of 30 years who only lives 3 miles away from me using a meetup website.

Take your time.
Takes a LONG time to figure out. Take the time and you'll be impressed.

Expensive but I value this device
It actually works. Good quality but seat for circuitry could be improved a little. Have not been able to record audio messages on my version.

Uncomfortable Fit
Fits awkwardly on the face. I didn't realize when i bought this how stiff it was gonna be. It puts a lot of pressure on the bridge of my nose and brow. You have to keep it tight enough though to keep it on your face. Haven't used it enough to know if it will work. Can't get past how uncomfortable it is.
