Responsive and with so many ways to unlock the door, this smart door lock decreases anxiety that many, myself included, have with this type of lock. What if I don’t have my phone, or the battery is not charged? It will open with the app but also with passcode, fingerprint, fob, and mechanical keys. No concerns there.Install was very easy until I had to uninstall it entirely. This is not designed for deadbolt replacement, and it may not work at all if you have one on the top of the regular lock as it will cover the deadbolt partially. They can’t coexist in most cases. This was the mistake I made. I didn’t realize it wouldn’t work for my front door until I started the installation. I removed it from the front door and installed it in my office, where it worked well in every test. The app could be better but it’s not terrible in my opinion.This is a very good smart lock. I just wished they included the Wi-Fi gateway for it. I probably didn’t need one because the lock is not installed to my front door, but I had already ordered because I wanted to be able to control it from wherever I had internet access. As I did, you can buy it separately, but it should come with it even if you had to pay more.

Our main dwelling is up 14 stairs. To access my studio, I would go down the stairs, out the door, walk the 40 or so paces to the entrance and I can’t tell you how many times I forgot the key and had to go back inside to get it. That is why I wanted a keyless entry lock on that door.I got the lock today, looked up the installation guide online (I’ve installed locks before and knew the basics). I downloaded the app on my phone, removed the old lock and installed the new one, took me about half an hour to get the lock installed. I first tested the key to make sure I wasn’t going to lock myself out. That works fine, except, you can’t leave the door unlocked using the key because you can't remove the key in the unlocked position. You need to unlock it, open it then turn it back to lock and remove the key. Next, I accessed the app and found I can open the lock using the app. Then I set up a code using the app. NOTE: if you let the app generate the code it will pick some 6 digit or more bunch of numbers to remember. I used the custom feature to select a more memorable code for me. It let me put in a second custom code for my wife, which I also selected (though she could have selected her own). You have to use the code within 24 hours so that it will remain available. ALSO NOTE: the thing to remember about using the code is after you enter it, press the number (#) key. If you don’t press the number key and try the door, it will tell you code failed, if you do that too many times (three I think) it will go into alarm. So, put in the right code, then press (#) and it should work.Then I setup the key fobs (cards). They are simple to do. Tell the app you want to prepare a key card, then, when directed, hold the card in front of the key pad on the lock until it tells you it succeeded. I then put in my fingerprints. NOTE: I setup multiple fingers on both hands, in case I was carrying something, or injure the finger. The fingerprint process is easy and works well. When directed, you just repeatedly press the same finger on the sensor until the app tells you it has succeeded. I found it works very well.It seems the lock only tracks the entrances if the app is running, since I went out a while later and went in then I started and checked the app to see if it was logging my entrances. It did not pick up the later one that I made with the app off.I found the app was simple enough once I used it. The installation of the new lockset was smooth, seeing as I was replacing an old lockset and the holes were drilled, NOTE that a guide template for drilling is provided, but I did not need it. The lock works as it is supposed to, so now, the only fear is I will come out of the house and forget my house key since it was on the keyring that used to have the old lockset key on it, but I can put a spare in my studio because I do not need a key to get in there.The lockset itself is attractive, made from sturdy materials, the handles are heavy weight, there are gaskets where the halves meet the wall. This is a very nice keyless lockset that operates exactly as it is supposed to. I like this product.

So duplicating my key to have a spare is such a hassle as its only one special company that can do it, why? I have no idea!When I saw this lock I figured Id give it a try especially as it says you can just install using your existing holes in the door. Asked my superintendent to help me install it, and yes he had to expand the hole that was on the door, but thats cause back then the standard holes for the door locks were much smaller. That was really the hardest part.Putting it in was fairly easy and straightforward, even though the set up video on youtube can be better. I was able to download the app, pair the lock, install my codes in, and set up my finger print without any hassles. The only thing is my son’s finger print never seems to read after i set him up for whatever reason, but then again he is 7 and has small hands, but nothing crazy, to make me ding it.It sure is quite convenient to say the least, however be aware this is not a fully secured lock, so youre better off with a bolt alongside it, but its good value for the price and works without effort.Also setting it up with alexa is a bit of a hassle as your phone with the app has to be close to the lock at the time of pairing if not aleaxa wont find it. Just a heads up

My husband says this was easy to set up. No issues there. I love how I don’t have to bother with house keys anymore. You get key fobs in case you need them. But we’ve set up our finger prints and that’s what we’ve been using. You can send temporary codes to individuals which is incredibly convenient. Sometimes I have my Dad take my dog out or he has to come get something at the house. He always had a key to my place, but this is even easier. This temporary key code would have come in handy when I had work being done in my house. I’m super pleased with this lock and the functionality it provides!

Does the job.It actually holds several prints so I like that a lot as we have a lot of older kids who kept losing house keys, this is great so they don’t have to carry or lose keys and can get into the house if I’m not home.It was pretty easy to install, my husband did it in about 20 mins.The great thing about this lock is that you don’t have to unlock anything to open from the inside in case you need to get out quickly and it automatically locks from the outside.
