Not what I thought it would be
I ordered this because it stated you could print from your I-phone. Well didn't say that you had to have a cloud account. After reading on all that I decided it was not worth the time & agravation to pursue. I guess nothing is as easy as they say it is.Other than that it is just another printer. Nothing special about it.I wouldn't buy another one.

Thank goodness for online reviews!
I write reviews because I know how helpful they are to me. I really like this printer. I bought it to go along with my recently purchased Chromebook and it's great! Imagine being in the back of the house, thinking of something you'd like to print from your printer. I did just that! When I came in the living room the next morning my document was waiting for me. I like being able to print from all of my devices - laptop, Chromebook, tablet, and cell phone. I copied some documents and the copies were crisp and clean. I also like that the ink is much less expensive than ink for my other printers.I don't have any complaints. I carefully read the description along with the reviews of others. I knew what I was getting and am very happy with my purchase.

Out-of-the box, Day 1 Impression: Excellent.
Just received this unit last night to replace an HP Photosmart Premium something-or-other which was beset with connection problems...it would print a third of a page, stall for half an hour, crash, etc. Disaster. So my focus on this unit was how quickly/easily it would get onto my wireless network and be located by various laptops. The answer is "immediately". Out of the box, it does feel a bit flimsy and cheap; doors don't click, plastic pieces are a little loose & wobbly. The keyboard and display really feel like they're at least 10 years old re: the quality of the display, menu navigation, feel of the buttons, etc. This was a bit surprising, but not a disaster. It immediately launches on on-screen set-up procedure, which I followed. In minutes I'd located my wireless network and logged on. When I went to my (Mac) laptop and opened a print window, it immediately found the printer on the network and prompted me to download and install the appropriate drivers, etc. Once they installed, I pressed "Print" and the printer immediately got to work. Never had to use the included CD, or perform ANY other set-up function with my laptop. So based on my initial reasons for replacing my HP, I was thrilled. There's no included manual; you need to install an app off the CD which launches the on-screen user's manual. This took two tries, but then worked fine.We made copies easily enough by finding our way through the keyboard functions. Again, that experience feels very dated, like a mid-90's interface. But it works. There's an "ECO" function which controls 2-sided printing and when/whether the printer turns itself off after a period of non-use, etc. This includes an auto-on feature, which turns the printer on (rather than just waking it from sleep) when you send a page. If this actually works, it'll be great: the energy savings of having the printer off when not in use, but the convenience of not having to walk over and turn it on before printing. Again, something I'd always wished my HP would do.I'll update if there are any surprises as I get to work with the unit, but my initial reaction re: ease of setup and connectivity is that it was surprisingly easy. Very happy.

Worked for 14 months
The mg4220 was a pretty easy set up, including wireless. It printed adequately like any other printer for 14 months. Then one piece of paper jammed in it and it reported support code 5400. Removing the piece of paper did nothing to help. Canon phone support was free, but we're two months out of warranty and have to take the printer in to be serviced. Serviced after a single paper jam! I cannot believe the total incompetence of hardware design that cannot withstand a single piece of paper jamming in a printer. The paper is ordinary HP color inkjet paper, nothing special, and the jammed piece of paper came out in a single piece, so there aren't any shreds in the gears. The lesson, which I should have learned years ago, is that inkjet printers are disposable, should be replaced annually, and should therefore be bought as cheaply as possible, with no extra features like scanners.[Edit] After it sat for a few months I figured why not try taking it apart. I pulled off a side panel and unplugged a few ribbon cables from the exposed circuit board, then plugged them back in. That appeared to cause a reset of some kind, because when I started the printer it began to work again. I'm leaving the panel loose so I can do that if this happens again.
