Lupo's Spiedie Marinade 5 Pack Gift Box Special

Lupo's Marinade 5 pack is a typical package of several marinades. What is NOT typical is the flavor and 2 of them for Chicken and Spiedies. Spiedies are cut small chunks of meat, marinated for 3-5 days, placed on metal skewers and roasted over charcoal. Then slipped off into a slice of Italian bread. They are unique to the Southern Tier of New York and Endicott, New York. The recipe appears to have been brought here by immigrants from Europe to work at the Endicott-Johnson shoe plant in the early 1900's. The chunks are cut to the size of a gumball and were originally leg of lamb. Now they can be pork, chicken or venison. Endicott Johnson shoe company used to have huge picnics for the employees with fire works and lots of chicken. That chicken was marinated in the chicken sauce in this package or at least very similar to it. Its quite a vinegar concoction and great tasting. Marinate chicken whole or pieces for 3-5 days before cooking. Each bottle will marinate 5 pounds of meat.

Love Lupo's! Spiedies are an upstate NY invention from the area where I was raised. I now live in Tennessee and no one has ever heard of them, so finding a spiedie marinade is impossible! Spiedies are small chunks of meat (chicken, lamb, beef or pork) that are marinaded overnight, put on skewers and grilled. Then slide them off the skewer onto a piece of Italian bread and eat - wonderful! Lupo's is one of the few companies making good spiedie marinades. This 5 pack has a nice assortment of different flavors even though the original is still my favorite.

This is the way to experience the range of flavors from five different marinades. Lupo’s is the taste preferred by locals in New York’s southern tier. Also good price value compared to individual purchase. Our neighbors always take notice when they smell spiedies cooking on our grill.

Was releieved that I was able to find something other than Salamida, because to me, it isn't true speadies without Lupos. The only thing I'd offer as a bonus to this product would be Felix Roma Italian Bread..

Bought this as a Father's Day gift as my parents love to grill. They cannot stop raving about how great it was!

Not sure if some of the sauces have changed over the years but just didn't seem the same.
