Amazing details in the leaves if you're baking crayons
Like many of the other reviewers, I did not purchase this for baking foods, though I do believe that the grooves inserted within the mold (to detail the pumpkins and in particular the leaves) could potentially tear away at your cupcake mix. For baking crayons, though, this mold is nearly perfect. My sole complaint is that the molds are so large that it takes a fair number of crayons to fill one.My daughter and I made a little over 44 crayons in these molds and we used nearly 1,000 crayons! That's a lot of crayons, so the work that goes into making them takes quite some time. That said, the crayons turned out beautifully, and all of the children (ages 6-8) loved them. I even received a few emails from parents expressing thanks, and my daughter's art teacher commented on how beautiful they were. We made the crayons for Halloween day (at my daughter's school, Halloween is not officially celebrated and sweets of all sorts are frowned upon--some of the children have allergies), but my daughter wanted to do something special. The wonderful thing about the mixture of the leaves with the pumpkins is that the mold is not specific to Halloween, but more of a celebration of the Fall season. My daughter (8) also enjoyed watching the crayons melt into a goo and then, as they cooled, took on the shape of the mold. She was just as excited about watching crayons bake as she gets when I'm making cookies, cupcakes, or a cake. She has agreed, though, that the next time we use this mold, we won't have such high ambitions in terms of the number of crayons to be turned out.I've used some of the smaller molds to do other crayon melting projects, and they have always been well-received. Great item for party favors (even for toddlers since the crayons are so large and non-toxic--my two-year-old loved them), and as special hand-made gifts. We plan to make some handmade Christmas tree and gingerbread men crayons as stocking stuffers for my many nieces and nephews.PROS AND CONS in a nutshell:Great detailing on the pumpkins and especially on the leaves, but the mold is rather large (so if you're making many crayons, you're in for a long project), and it's a bit difficult to get ALL of the wax residue off the mold (required multiple washings--but I did not use a non-stick spray, which I'm told does help) once you're finished with the project. Once the crayons have cooled, they pop out really easily. One more thing to note is that the crayons in the center of the mold take a bit longer to melt, so keep your eye on the oven. I'll try to post some photos so you get a better sense of how the crayons look when using this mold.

I'm sad these are being discontinued but I'm glad I got mine!
Omg, I can't believe it took me so long to write a review for these! (This came up in my "write a review" profile section.) I thought I had! I made the most adorable fall soaps with this mold! I could just swear I posted the pics of these soaps but they were likely on a plate with some other mold I wrote a review for and didn't get the attention they deserved! So freakin' cute! Gosh, that was so long ago now I can't even remember what I scented them with but I know I made coffee scrubs with them, too. I'm thinking I made some with pumpkin spice and some with cinnamon, either way, ADORABLE! These are a good size for soaps or muffins, not like those tiny "guest soap" molds, but not quite standard size either, just right for gifts! I didn't put these in the oven though, I just poured hot soap in (melt-and-pour, not the volatile kind), but they worked perfectly! They all came out easily with no sticking, in perfect shape, and it washed up easily just like new. I might mention though (even though I probably shouldn't), when I bought them they hadn't been discontinued, so I got them for about half the cost they're asking now. I wasn't part of any group that got them at a discount for a review or anything, I paid full price and nobody cares about my opinion. That said, I'm glad I got them when I did, because they are well worth double what I paid. I plan to use these for years to come, I LOVE fall!

Cute little trees
I purchased this mold before Christmas since we decided we were going to do a Christmas village instead of the old stand by of cookies and cupcakes. This mold actually did surprise me. I was sure that the details would be lost once the cake was out of the mold. They weren't which made decorating both fun and challenging. There are clear details of ornaments on the tress but once you frost them it's lost. So what we did was colored the cake mix green, decorated where the ornaments were, and then I sifted powdered sugar over everything to cover the trees in snow. The one thing that made this 5 star for me was the little ornament details. When it comes to cleaning this mold it is hard to make sure they are all clean. I turned them inside out and washed them that way. Even with doing that I had to wash them a second time to make sure that I had gotten everything off of the mold. We may try chocolate next time around since I have experience working with chocolate and see how that works.Overall it is a neat mold, it does create little trees, it is just a little difficult to clean.

GREAT FOR USING AS A DESIGN ON TOP OF CAKE
I bought two of these pans for the sole purpose of decorating the top of a 12"x12" birthday cake that I made. After I put the frosting on, I positioned twelve of these flowers into a heart-shape and filled strawberries inside. I only wanted low-profile flowers, so I poured like one large heaping spoon from the larger spoon that usually comes with your 5-piece dinnerware. Although I forgot to spray the molds with oil or butter, it didn't need it...I guess because mine weren't like full-size muffins. The cake rose to like half-an-inch, which was perfect for my use. As others have said, it takes less time to cook, they come out moist and obviously you should use a pan underneath it for support. By using a pan for support, I lowered the temperature from 350 to 325 as the cake recommended. I used the good-old-toothpick-trick to test it. Definitely glad with my first silicone-baking product and will be on the lookout for more!!

used for bath fizzies
I used this to make bath fizzies, but it's not made for that. I haven't baked anything in it so I don't know how it would do with that. I am planning to make some frozen fruit ice cubes in it for a baby shower and am looking forward to trying it out for that. The cavities are about the same size as regular muffins, and they're also very deep. It holds it's shape well enough if you pour something in, but if you're squishing in like I did with the bath fizzies, it doesn't hold it's shape. If the frozen fruit ice chunks come out well, I will change my review to a 5 star.

Hard to get baking out of pan
Really hard to get the cooked goods out of the pan. Everything sticks in all the ridges.

handy and flexible molds
durable silicon product which could be used for other purposes like soap molds.De molding then works very well. I wouldn't use it for baking though because of degassing.

Good quality
Love it! No complaints. Sturdy plastic that is in no way flimsy.
