Trash Mainstays Motion Sensor Can, 13.2 Gallon, Stainless Steel (Silver)

I named it Melvin. Makes things a little funnier when the motion sensor takes forever and I have a name to get frustrated at.It’s great other than the delay in opening. Usually takes a few hand waves before it opens up. It can be really annoying when you’re holding something dripping or when you’re cooking and just want to quickly toss things into the trash.I probably just should have gotten a normal trash can, but here we are. Can’t bring myself to abandon Melvin now.

Why did the kitchen garbage cans become so expensive? I purchased this one because it was on the less expensive side. I do like the look of it, and it’s good for a narrow space. The sensor almost works in overdrive and anytime you pass it, it immediately opens and the sound is kind of like a cat dying. Also, the lid gets dirty very quickly and you have to sanitize and clean it on a daily basis

This Motion Sensor trash can was less expensive than the other brands. This was my first time purchasing this brand. I have purchased 2 others of the more expensive brand. I am very pleased and find that this can looks sleeker than the others and work just as good. I especially like the fact that the batteries are at the back of the lid as opposed to the underside like in the other ones.

Boy was I wrong!There are so many times where I throw stuff away and tell me wife, "I can't believe that I thought this was stupid.". I know this sounds like I was sponsored or something, but that's actually how I feel about this trash can.The only issue I have with this is that we set it off all the time while just walking by. Now, this isn't the fault of the trash can, just our placement, but just keep that in mind when buying this. So far we haven't had any batteries die, but having this thing open about 2x as much as just for normal trash is burning batteries faster than normal I'd imagine.

this trash can is seriously soo nice! i moved into a new apartment & wanted something sleek & modern for my kitchen and this is perfect! i got the stainless steel one and it really looks great in my kitchen. the motion detector works incredibly well & shuts within 3 seconds of moving my hand out of the way! love not having to touch the lid. great value for your money.

Best price out there for a stainless steel 13.5 gal motion sensor trash can. My kid is a germaphobe and loves that he doesn't have to touch the lid anymore. 2 D batteries and you are good to go. Bought a 12 pack here on Amazon since they have a 5 year shelf life. Only because I loved the trash can so much, I ordered a 2nd one!! Came a lot faster than the delivery date posted! Sensor is very sensitive! We walk by too close and it triggers the can to open. Haha. Everyone should have one of these in their home! Easy to put together! You can also disable the sensor if you want to. Love it!

Just received the garbage can today, works great and the motion detection works after one hand swipe so I’m glad. I’m just a little confused, I’m wondering if it’s missing a bottom piece? There are small holes in the bottom that expose to the flooring, I’m just worried about throwing away something that might leak onto the floor, otherwise it’s a nice trash can.

I really love this trash can. It was well packaged and easy to set up. Motion sensor works really great. Looks beautiful. I recommend this trash can to everybody.
