Deluxe Heavy Duty Squirrel Proof Wild Bird Hanging Seed Feeder Cage

A great, well made item and certainly squirrel-proof so far, the only problem is that the green parakeets 🦜 who visit my garden daily can just stretch their necks far enough through the cage to reach the seed 🙁 Note to manufacturer … another centimetre or two between the cage and the seed tube would probably sort them out!

Quite heavy and seems to deter larger birds and squirrels. Unfortunately my blue tits struggle to get the nuts out of the holes and frequently fly off unfed! I have to keep poking it with a stick to get the peanuts to drop down. The lid is a very tight fit and I struggle with my weak fingers to turn it. I think I shall have to try broken peanuts?

Bought this to stop attacks by squirrels and larger birds and it does work, spotted woodpecker keeps trying .I have added a modification by securing a disc of aluminium under the bottom of the feeder this retains sunflower hearts and stops them falling to the ground ,its surprising how the small finches and tits drop the seed ,when the feeder is empty they feed on the seed retained by the disc. Why do I want to deter the woodpecker they are bit too handy with their beaks and attack the smaller birds, even to the extent of pecking holes in the wooden bird boxes to get at the young birds.

Works wonderfully but the top has to be firmly in place after filling with the food.Cunning squirrels can and will unscrew the lid and go into the inside food barrel and feed. Easy to clean too.Would recommend.

Good squirrel proof feeder with an easy feed and fill cap.

This is a well made seed feeder with a metal lid (however the lid was really fiddly to fix firmly in place). I don't think it's the fault of the product necessarily but no feeder is fully Squirrel-proof & I found our local squirrel managed to squeeze into the cage and sit feasting on the seeds. Maybe if he sat there long enough eating & gaining a waistline he would never get out again as he had to perform some fast ninja moves to escape when I went out to ask how his meal was.

Sturdy build and has worked a treat. We were getting raided by Pigeons and this has resolved the problem as they cannot reach the bird seed despite repeated attempts. They kept trying for a few days and have gradually given up but the small birds are feeding well and are quite at home sitting inside them eating happily. The pigeons still come and clear anything dropped on the path/grass so a win / win all round.Highly recommended.

I have searched in vain for something strong enough to deter my very tenacious squirrels that have not only destroyed my previous feeders, but stop the little birds getting anything as they just devour everything. These work!! Finally I have lots of little birds getting their fill and very frustrated squirrels despite me offering them alternatives so they can eat too. These are absolutely brilliant and cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone tormented by destructive, greedy squirrels .
