This product is packaged and shipped with extra protection to help protect your investment. Optima YellowTop batteries are made for the extremes. Optima batteries with patented SPIRALCELL Technology deliver that performance. The deep cycle characteristic of this technology coupled with its extreme resistance to vibration provides performance vehicles with the repetitive power they need in a spill-proof package. If the vehicle has a lot of accessories like running lights, high-performance stereo/AV system, winches, or hydraulics, the Optima YellowTop batteries provide the extra performance and deep cycling capability that your vehicle demands. It's perfect for people who are serious about sound. Optima's power is cleaner with higher voltage output than conventional batteries. And they have a greater cycle life so they can be drained and recharged more often. Optima batteries can meet the needs of more enthusiasts in the performance market. Group 51, 35 and 75/25 sizes are made just for your compact power needs. Using Optima SPIRALCELL Technology, cells are tightly compressed into supportive chambers, giving Optima batteries over 15 times more vibration resistance than traditional batteries. This translates into longer battery life. Due to its completely sealed case, the Optima Yellow Top battery is extremely safe and corrosion resistant. Acid can't leak or spill, making them clean, user-friendly and environmentally sound. No matter the conditions, be it dampness, heat, dirt or exposure to extremes, you can count on Optima to deliver uninterrupted power. Optima's ability to hold a higher voltage during the discharge cycle makes it possible to utilize more of the stored power in the Optima compared to ordinary batteries. The YellowTop handles many discharges as well as re-charges without losing significant capacity. Optima is also ideal for seasonal use because of its very low self-discharge rate.

Optima Batteries - Make as much sense as using synthetic oil and a good set of tires
Todays cars sometimes keep their headlights on when you turn off your ignition but leave the key in the lock. At least mine does and the result was a dead battery that was compromised. Computers, electronic fuel injection, all sorts of electrical components on cars; our automobile batteries have much more demand on them than ever before. These batteries are rugged, powerful, will take and hold a charge. They are sealed and do not have the issues of typical batteries. They are not cheap but if you need a battery you can count on, investigate these.

Great battery.
Great battery. More cranking power and better drive performance. Deep Cycle battery can operate Car stereo systems and DVD without killing the battery life. Great for tail gating and parties. With this battery, I can have a peace of mind.

Not for an Acura TL
I always used Duralast due to it's reliability and price but... this Optima yellow top seems to be a good replacement. This battery sold me with the claim to be exceptional for heavy battery load. I check the Optima site and it suggested the 8040-218 D35, which is the one I got (with the worried free packaging). It's also the same one Amazons says fit my car.PROs:Packaging: The worried free packaging comes nicely package.Cranking power: I live in MN and this little baby is able to start the car fairly well in the cold so far.CONs:-->Size: Usually small is good but this battery is extremely small compared to other batteries for my Acura. The oem battery holder does not work because it's so small. I had to do a lot of custom work to get this to screw on tight onto the car. I'm questioning if it is the right battery for my car but I double check the website and it seem to be so.--Charge Handling: For what I use, this is not sufficient. Running 1500 watt amp subs with another 1000 watt amp for mids + highs. Winter time also puts the heated seats to use. I often end up draining this battery and dim lights with heavy usage. That did not happen with the Duralast I previously had in there...-->Price: It's fair expensive. It wouldn't be a negative if this had performed as advertised...Other thoughts:I'm not sure if there is a bigger size that will fit the Acura TL. I have had good luck with this battery in the past but it's not a good option for the Acura TL. It works for now.. It was not the high performance monster it had claimed to be... which is 3 stars for me. I probably won't buy it again.

Theres a first time for everything!
I have owned Optima batteries for years. Out of convenience with amazon prime and the fact that this was one of the cheapest places to get the battery I ordered it. Frustration free packaging was great however the battery was DOA..had a 10% charge and my car wouldst start, I have never bought a new battery with no charge! Couldn't return the batter due to it being hazardous so amazon gave me a full refund which I was grateful for however, order with caution!

Not What They Used to Be
For my previous vehicle, I had purchased a yellow top because I had a high drain audio system installed, and let me tell you that battery that I had in it, is not the same battery I installed in my current vehicle. After doing some research, I found out that Optima moved their production into Mexico and the same standards that applied to the battery in my previous vehicle vs the one in my current, definitely were not there. I have the optima installed in my truck for 38 months. I have a light bar, and a pretty intense car audio set-up in my truck as well. After my first issue with it, I hooked it up to my automotive battery charger and it displayed a fault code indicating that there was an open cell. Despite that, I continued to use it for almost an additional year up until now where it's finally still displaying that code and it's not holding a charge the way it supposed to. Upon advice from my mechanic who works at a performance garage, I just ordered an Odyssey brand battery. I'm done with Optima. I've had lots of different car batteries because I always learned the hard way installing all of my own lights and audio components and making mistakes. This time around, I did everything right, and had every electrical modification done professionally on my truck and I still had an issue, not to mention I'm the first and only owner of this vehicle. If you don't believe my experience, just google optima battery issues. They're not the same battery they once were.

Salvation and security for a price.
This is only my second Optima yellow-top purchase, now having one in my F150 and my Honda pilot. Imagine an Indiana December, older car, on its second or third battery in ten years. You work all day, walk in -8 deg F chill to the car, and notice that odd sensation of something amiss. Then it hits you. The dome light didn't come on. The car is eerily quiet. And you turn the key full-throw with no dash lights and no start. Yikes.I'll leave out the 10pm call for a ride home. Suffice to say, I ordered my new battery and had it delivered at home. The battery is heavy, but ships with a carry-strap that is discarded after install. It sits in the battery nook perfectly and anchors with the stock Honda battery strap. The leads are next. I like to use electrolyte paste for both corrosion but also conduction purposes. For this car, have your keys handy. As soon as I hooked up the cables, my alarm went off. To quiet it, I needed unlock the driver door (even if it's already open!!) Imagine doing this in a parking garage with your friends walking by. Not as stressful as stacking dynamite, but it might make you rush a little and scratch the paint. (This time I didn't.)Once the alarm is off, give the battery its first test: start the car. Vroom. Done. Pricey, but worth the salvation and security. No, its not as cool as a Tesla battery, but it does its job in deep cold or humid sun. I've even bumped by knee on the lights button a few times and left the interior lights on all day (its a 2003 pilot). It wasn't a sub-zero start, and the vehicle wasn't electrically dead, but it still started on the first try. Fingers crossed for next winter.

Perfect Fit
Removed old battery, placed new one right back in. No modifications required. So far so good!! Hopefully will last a long time like the OEM battery did.
