This book was extremely helpful. I used to be an American Sign Language Interpreter and went the route of gaining my alternative licensure to teach ASL. I had to pass the assessment of professional knowledge K-12 as one of my last requirements. I ordered this book and it helped me immensely. I read the whole thing, took detailed notes, studied, took the practice test in the back, as well as paying for a practice test online. This was extremely beneficial because it helped me pass the test on the first try. I am not a good test taker and was so nervous about completing this. With the help of all the tools I utilized, especially the book, it was so helpful to me. I really felt it gave me the confidence and knowledge in greater detail to be able to prepare myself for my testing day. I highly recommend this as well as the other tools I mentioned above. Worth every penny when purchasing this:)

The materials are easily accessible and the videos, quizzes and practice tests are accessible as well. Other companies do not allow access to practice tests until a certain percentage of material is covered, which ends up with the student not being able to practice the exam before taking!

This book was a God send. I am a Colorado transplant that needed to pass the test to teach in Ohio and was finding limited study materials other than practice tests. This book was perfect to prepare me for the actual test. The information is EASILY 90% relevant. The test that was included was an accurate depiction and prepared me for the electronic pre-tests In which I scored 85 percent. NOT BAD FOR A WEEK OF STUDYING! This book has clean, concise, no frills info that will help anyone do well on this mandatory test. Even an elective teacher!

It has great studying tips and test taking tips that are geared towards the type of questions that will be on the test. I really like how it breaks the topics down into sections and then umbrella's the necessary information. It is very informative and straight to the point. It appears to be extremely thorough.

I did not hesitate to purchase this one because their Foundarions of Reading was so awesome, but this one was not as great. I noticed some errors and repetition. There were also no examples of the two written tasks on the exam which are my areas of most concern. I'll have to rely on the OAE sites study guide online for that part. For the price, I would not recommend this particular guide, though I think the company has some good material.

I have found that this study guide is a very useful tool in preparing for my exam. I ordered my copy and have learned a great deal about test questions and many useful things to apply in my classroom. I also like your full coverage of Ohio’s Professional Standards in your questions. Several people referred Mometrix Test Preparations to me after using other products and said that this was the only study guide that helped them pass their assessments. I find your questions to be sequential and help me to use analytical thinking skills to answer the questions.

The study questions in this book are very factual -- What theory of ___ did ____ study? What stage of Writing would ___ be an example of? So that is what I studied all week....The actual test was WAY deeper like "if Teacher X is a middle school Science teacher planning a unit on ___, what would be the best opening activity for a unit on ___?... or "Teacher X teaches 2nd grade and is setting up centers for ___. She uses ___ in the ___ center. What theory of cognitive development would the use of this support?" and that kind of stuff....Also, I did not see any mention in the book of the 2 essay questions which I also did not feel prepared for.

This study guide is so helpful and useful in preparing me for my upcoming test. Filled with a lot of information I need to know. Even includes a full practice test and the answers so I know how well I did.
