Shutoff Valve Ineffective
What can you say about a coffee percolator? I've had this model for about a year now. It makes the coffee fine. It keeps the coffee hot.If you remove the pot before percolation has finished, then coffee drips all over the hotplate and makes a mess--the shutoff valve, which is supposed to allow pouring a cup before percolation has finished, is ineffective in my machine now. Like a lot of modern items, it stank of plastic for the first few months I owned it, a fact which obviously means it is outgassing chemicals and possibly leaching chemicals into the coffee (or possibly not).

Buy at Walgreens, great little machine
Had to buy a cheap coffeemaker fast to use while our more expensive new one (Capresso cm300) had to go to the shop for replacement. This one is about $17, and makes fantastic coffee,--fast, easy, and cutely. We use 5 very rounded scoops of 8'oClock French or Original Roast. I would use this one in place of our other bigger more $$$ one but hubs likes the larger carafe size in the Capresso. This one makes 5 cups in its cute little pot, which here in America translates to about 2.5 large regular coffee mugs. For the money, it beats a $100+ machine in my opinion.
